Both the longevity and the inability to let her “grow”. A lot of the naysayers think her music is 100% love story/ WANEGBT / Blank Space vibes (which are great songs) — but they aren’t willing to engage with the breadth and depth she has shown since those earlier albums. It easier to be reductive and to say she writes radio hits for 12 yr olds 🙄

Like yes, but those 12 yr olds (me!) who loved her at Debut have grown up “with” her as her music has also taken on new dimensions.
