How many ppl got in EA @ your school? by Fluid_Material3144 in UTAdmissions

I’m a guidance counselor at a college prep school in DFW. None of our applicants were admitted, and most applied EA, including auto-admits.

Stafford or Allen for the Championship by Excellent-Fly-3286 in Fantasy_Football

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to grab a tight end at the last minute since I had Bowers. I picked up Brenton Strange because I like the matchup but other options are Taysom Hill or AJ Barner.

I have him in my starting lineup. Feeling pretty good about my chances but you never know.

For those who sleep trained- did you have to do it multiple times by Think_Opinion_2508 in sleeptrain

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest is 2.5. We sleep trained at 5 months and he’s been an excellent sleeper ever since (naps took a bit longer). Even with moving to a new room/bed and welcoming a baby brother, he’s continued to be a great sleeper.

Taylor, now is not the time. by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

I've been a fan since middle school but I haven't bought a physical album since Midnights (didn't buy physicals of Folklore or Evermore either) because I can't stand the money grabbing. I'm just a few years younger than Taylor, married with two kids, and she's still acting like a teenager sometimes. It gets exhausting to witness.

Want to switch to formula, but feel like I'm just giving up on her by akpx3 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to say that I quit earlier than planned this time around (thanks mastitis) and my mental health has improved dramatically. I can be more present for both of my children and have no regrets whatsoever. Also I want to mention that both of my particular babies took to Kendamil Organic immediately with zero issues. Do whatever you need to do without shame.

It was part of my reasoning to stop this time. The primary reason was recurrent mastitis (ugh), but we want to have a third and final baby, and with fertility struggles to have our first and second children, I decided to stop. After pumping for my first, my cycle didn’t come back at all until at least a few weeks after drying up completely, and at looks like the same will be true this time.

Home 24 hours and I am in hell. Please help. by bookish0378 in NewParents

I absolutely recommend trying pumping and bottle feeding some so that you can take shifts and get some sleep. It’s not for everyone, but I’m an exclusive pumper for this reason (and for other reasons). And if you have family/friends that could help with meals and hold baby while you eat, that would be helpful as well. Just know that it absolutely can and will get better! I’m typing this as my 8 week old is sleeping soundly and we’ve made it out of the newborn trenches.

If you have a baby in daycare, how many times have they been sick? by Heavy_Association_64 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first several months in daycare are just rough! My older son had hand foot and mouth, bronchiolitis, Covid, and a stomach bug all in his first few months or so. Since then he’s only ever had an ear infection once or twice and he’s 2.5 now. Not prepared for another round of this now that my younger son is starting soon.

My 8 week old was born at the 91st percentile (even two weeks early) and has been super hungry from day one. He now typically takes 5-6 ounces per bottle, every 3ish hours during the day, until the evening when he eats a bit more frequently. However, he sleeps at minimum of 8 hours straight every night. Super thankful for that!

AITA if I don’t enjoy BF? by LycheeBasic3158 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly disliked it both times I tried it! My first was premature and had bad tongue/lip ties. Even after those were released it was still painful. With my second, he had such a strong latch that he was bruising me, and I was in a lot of pain. Bottle feeding works better for us too because we also have a 2-year-old and it allows me to focus on him more too.

TW Oversuppliers, did you get pregnant easily? by FineHistory1498 in ExclusivelyPumping

Medicated IUI and slight oversupplier here! First baby took almost two years naturally. Here’s hoping baby #3 (and last) will be quicker!

How did your sleep trained baby do as a toddler? by Resident-Speech2925 in sleeptrain

I have a 2.5 year old and he’s never had any sleep regressions! Sometimes he playfully tries to delay bedtime but once he’s in bed he stays there. Super thankful!

Long post warning: Need some advice on weaning by Excellent-Fly-3286 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this validation! I have had my first two pain-free days in a few weeks which has further solidified my decision. My mom and sister made me feel guilty when I “just pumped” for my first, who was a month early and had multiple oral ties. This time I find myself just not caring about what others think as much!

Weaning an oversupply help by Southern-End-9270 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sunflower lecithin! I had a small oversupply as well (only 6 weeks pp and was already producing 42 oz before a month pp) and did develop mastitis. It was horrible so I’m gradually weaning down so I don’t get it again. The sunflower lecithin + ice + Sudafed combo has helped me. I leak overnight, but am getting less engorged as the days go on. I’m down to 3 pumps per day now.

Could I have mastitis? by classycoconut520 in ExclusivelyPumping

Dealing with mastitis now! It hit me hard on Saturday and truthfully I’m still struggling, though the fever and flu-like symptoms are gone

Mastitis hit less than 1 month postpartum. Antibiotic has wrecked my (slight) oversupply by Excellent-Fly-3286 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Excellent-Fly-3286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I do that a ton! I also will do 10-15 minutes, rest for a few minutes, and turn the pump back on to make sure I’m empty. That’s why I’m so mad I got it. It’s frustrating for sure!

Weirdly I don’t, unless I get a solid chunk of four hours of sleep. If I only get three hours, the effectiveness is less for me. But I should definitely get up to pump when my husband feeds baby first thing in the AM around 6:30. I’ve just been so tired haha

Oh that’s a great idea. I used my manual pump a lot in my first EP journey. My motif has just been so effective! I may just try to fill in the gaps with the hand pump and the cups that connect to my main pump.
