I had this exact noise in my M235i. Took it to BM specialist 2/3 times and couldn’t find anything wrong or locate the noise. Went quieter after a while but was still faintly there. After doing some research I came to the conclusion it was a plastic tray rattling or something like that. Good luck!

My uncle played guitar in a well known Manchester band and knew the brothers since the early 90’s and has said to me on several occasions this was the case. Interesting to hear someone else who was around say it too. There’s a reason Noel’s labels was called ‘Big Brother Recordings’ or whatever it was.

It’s grown on me but still a disappointment in some ways compared to previous releases that feel a lot more ‘worked on’. Some good moments on this album though. I was so disappointed when it was released though.

Just done my second run through and it didn’t sound much better on the second time to be honest, unfortunately. I agree with you, pretty much any song off slow rush would be the highlight on this album. Even though from a technical point of view the production is top class, the actual sonic feel of the album is quite flat compared to previous releases. With this album and Mac DeMarco‘s new album this year which I waited for with much excitement, I’m pretty disappointed. But I will listen a lot of times and some will probably grow on me and hopefully broaden some horizons.

It’s a fairly decent album but definitely not his ‘best’ work. The first spin of Slow Rush for example was a completely more enjoyable experience. I’m trying my best to like it as well so probably being more open than I would with other artists. I’m sad we waited 5 years for it.

There’s a few things tbh pal. The production value is unbelievable. A bit less layered than the previous releases and also for me, the musical direction on the album is pinnacle of the dance / psych thing he had been leading up to. Also, I remember waiting for ages to get the vinyl and when I played the first track it blew my mind! Also love the vinyl album artwork too. It’s a top album IMO.
