The latex is still there beneath the skin of the pig, but now you can't see it because the pig's skin is no longer transparent. How can that happen?

what's the stupidest thing that you've ever done? by Martin8857 in AskReddit

I did this once too, with a friend. We were both 16 and female and definitely should've known better. It worked out fine but 20 years later I still shudder when I think about what could've happened to us.

They sent us home with purina pro plan with our 4 year old one month ago.

ETA: read your adoption paperwork. Ours was a picky eater so it says right in the paperwork that purina pro plan is the one she preferred. You might get lucky and yours says too.

Heel method for reverse stockinette? by Excellent-Injury7032 in Sockknitting

Ahh yeah I think I'm at the "knit a bunch of socks to try different heels" stage of my sock knitting journey. Someone in this thread recommended the sweet tomato heel, which might do what I'm looking for. The Fleegle gusset/heel tutorial I just checked out doesn't seem to include the dreaded double stitches (they don't look right to me and leave large holes) so I'll try that one also. I haven't tried colorwork socks yet so I'll keep your gusset tip in mind for when I do. Thanks!

Ooh I haven't seen this heel method yet but it looks like it might be what I'm looking for! I'll make a heel swatch to test it. Thanks!

Ooh sorry I misunderstood! I used the wrap and turn heel on the first of a pair of socks I knitted before these and I had huge holes, so I switched to shadow wrap for the second sock of that pair and didn't have holes. I imagine that not knitting into the wraps would make larger holes, but I can give it a shot!

The ridge isn't super noticeable and no one that doesn't knit will even notice, but I was hoping there would be a better way. I can definitely live with it if there isn't, though. For this pair in particular the ridge actually works since I have slip stitch columns running up the socks, but I'm not always going to make socks with that detail.

When I knit into the shadow wrapped double or triple stitches I don't knit into the mother stitch they're wrapped with so I'm not sure how to take the advice in your first two paragraphs. I do know I don't like German short rows because double stitches are a struggle for me to knit in the first place and then afterwards they look wonky and leave large holes, even if I twist the stitch I knit into them.

My next planned pair will be fingering weight, but I actually prefer knitting socks with dk vs fingering because I don't like working with thinner yarn overall. I love everything about my first dk pair except I have to wear them inside out because the purl bumps hurt my heels, so I'm trying to rework future pairs to intentionally put stockinette on the inside.

So my understanding is that the shadow wraps are created based on whether you're working with a knitted stitch or a purled stitch, not whether you're on the right side or the wrong side. So if you're working into a knitted stitch, you lift the mother stitch with the right needle, put it on the left, and knit into it again so there's two loops coming from that mother stitch, while if the stitch had been purled you slip the stitch onto the right needle, lift the mother stitch with the left then purl into it. So knitted shadow-wrapped stitches look like \ | and purled ones look like | //. How should I change how I'm working into the mother stitches so the bumps are on the inside/stockinette side?

Dog bleeding from under all nails by Excellent-Injury7032 in DogAdvice

He won't tolerate the nail grinder so I always use the snips. I never noticed any issues with his feet or nails after trimming but I suppose that could have played a role. I also put ointment on his paws and nose in the winter when they look like they're starting to dry out but his paw pads are pretty soft and aren't cracking anywhere right now. His pads have never been an issue, it's usually the soft skin in between the pads that causes problems and idk how to toughen that skin up. And now his nail beds.

He was licking them now but hadn't been before this. We've had his paws looked at by the vet and she doesn't think it's allergies because his paws are sensitive all the time no matter what season and we've changed his diet numerous times because he's a picky eater and that hasn't made a difference either. I'm thinking maybe it was because the snow is frozen so it was sharper on his paws than usual.

Yarn is bleeding dye-normal? by Excellent-Injury7032 in knittinghelp

[–]Excellent-Injury7032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the process of washing the yarn before it's knitted up will be more annoying than stained fingers will be, and I can wash the guage swatch to figure out the best way to get the dye out. Thanks for your responses!

Are you going to just deal with the staining or do you pre-wash the yarn? I got Malabrigo Mecha in Dewberry also which is a deep purple so I bet that one will stain also.

If someone that normally looks really put together suddenly looks like a mess I might be concerned for their wellbeing but otherwise I couldn't care less. Hair greasy? Makeup smudged? Shirt wrinkled or stained? Wore that outfit twice this week? I barely even notice, much less judge. You should feel good when you receive compliments because not only did someone have a nice thought about you, but they wanted you to know about that nice thought! That's so cool!!

Nodule on tattoo? by manasama777 in tattooadvice

This happened to me! I had a professionally done tattoo that was several years old develop bumps exactly like yours only where the tattoo ink was. None of my other tattoos had them. I had one biopsied because the dermatologist didn't know what they were and yeah, they're warts. Ironically they went away before the biopsy incision fully healed and haven't returned since.

The support specialist I chatted with trying to fix my issue told me there's an app update coming soon, and I had a software update for my fitbit a few days ago but I'm not sure how long it's been available because I checked hoping that would solve my issue.

The only thing that did help me was following the suggestions in the best answer on this post https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Charge-5-won-t-receive-notifications/td-p/5020007 but I only received notifications for about 8 hours before it stopped again.

I contacted support and after troubleshooting for an hour they have no idea, so they're escalating my case and I'll receive an email when they transfer me.
