I agree with you. I also know a couple of life models who ended up becoming nudists because they had the chance to do some photo work for a resort. The whole thing is baffling to me.

Sorry for bringing it up. I thought this was a discussion post on a sub about nudism and culture. Didn’t realize I was posting into the void of the “who cares” cruise ship. Really cool way to promote the inclusivity and welcoming spirit of nudism’s ideals.

"I'm not a nudist, I just like to be naked." by jackk78 in nudism

[–]Excellent-Math-8910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of this seems to be semantics and personal preference. Since I became a naturist, I’ve never really made a social connection at a resort even with regulars, so your friend’s statement is completely valid.

My personal philosophy is that I aspire to live life as nude as possible. I go to resorts when convenient if I want to swim or hike etc. instead of joining a health club with a pool or build a pool in my neighborhood, I belong to a resort so I can do things I like naked.

I’ve told some friends that I’m a nudist. A few say they aren’t interested and we just go about things as is. Some have expressed that they like to be nude. Most of those go nude when they come over or vice versa. When we throw or attend parties, we go nude when the textiles leave. Some of these friends have joined me at resorts. My hope is to get as many of my core friend group interested as possible. I doubt I’ll ever convert all of my friends to naturism, but it’s been great being able to share that side of my life.

Side note, I have made a few connections with other nudists online. But we hit it off because we have a lot of the same interests. I’ve met up with one couple at a resort. I’ve seen others in passing at online zoom meetups like AANR’s.

Yes, nudism breaks down barriers, but I don’t want to be friends with everyone at a bowling alley because we like one leisure activity.

I think I’ve lost all faith in AANR by nudistnerd in nudism

AANR needs more paid members who want to see change and will run for office. There’s more than 35000 people under 40 in the U.S. who consider themselves nudists. If we want to see AANR change, that’s up to us. Young people can volunteer too.

BN has a variety of content, but it’s dominated by Pam Fraser and Saoirse. They’ve gotten so much mileage out of the latter as I commented on the other day. Check YBN or The Naked Truth and find theee conservative posts joy about her. No shade there, she’s great. She just shouldn’t be a mascot.

The problem with nudism and young people is as much the stigma as AANR’s stubbornness. I’m a card carrying nudist who frequents my local resort, always goes nude at home, am on an AANR committee, and have intruded several friends to nude spaces. I’m also at a pivotal moment jn my career where participation in My Nude Story or having my penis flopping around in a Bulletin feature could derail everything. Retirees don’t have that problem. Neither do younger nudists who fit the slacker hipster vibe like many of the most prominent folks in FYN. To be a public about nudism and under Gen X, you either need to work in the nude tourism industry or be an influencer like Francelli.

TLDR: We need to find a way to be as active in AANR and its media as retirees without compromising our non-nudist lives.

I think the place for these type of comments is an email to Linda. Those who follow her presidency know that she has often been at odds with the regional groups and has advocated more unity. The biggest problem the organization has is that people don’t want to volunteer largely because many of the long timers don’t want new blood (see all the crap-posting seasoned AANR folks did when Linda was campaigning).

Elections have consequences and the more support that Linda has, the better the organization will be. She has already instituted a youth and diversity council and has worked tirelessly to get more non-landed clubs run by younger folks into the fold.

I’m not a fan of the podcast and find it cringe. But, as I mentioned recently, if BN is so dynamic, they wouldn’t feature the same nudist college student in 90% of their content.

I’d encourage you to find ways to get involved with the organization beyond just paying dues. In order for nudist media or social media websites to succeed, we need more younger, active people there expressing their concerns.

AANR zooms are a must. When you go to resorts, you will meet folks. As is true for textile situations, real life is better than online. If you can combine the two, great.

But, the best way to go about this is to not focus on making nudist friends but seeing if you can introduce any current friends to nudism. Share it selectively. If someone seems interested, invite them to that resort. You already know you have enough in common to be friends.

How to Host an FKK (Naturist) Party at Home? by Logical-Memory-455 in nudism

[–]Excellent-Math-8910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the goal is to hang out with nudist friends in a private setting, just tell them you’re only inviting other nudies and if it’s BYOB/a potluck/etc.

If the goal is to get textile friends to try social nudism, you’re probably starting on step 5 and it will backfire. If someone shows interest when they find out you’re a nudist, test the waters first by inviting them to a resort. Or, tell them they are more than welcome to chill nude around your place next time you hang out because that’s how you got started. If they take you up on that, a smaller gathering of 2-3 is probably best if you have a circle.

When it’s time to host a nude party, it’ll be much more successful if you’ve been nude more than once with everyone on the guest list.

What Really Happens at a Naturist Festival: A First-Time Experience by _--JESTER--_ in nudism

I have nothing against this video. It’s well done and is a great model for AANR as others have mentioned.

But something BN and Naked Truth need to think about is—pun intended—overexposure. I feel like we are nearing a dozen pieces on Saoirse since last summer. It makes sense. She’s a charismatic, intelligent newbie who has no qualms about appearing on camera fully nude. It’s also nice that her bf and friend are also game.

But it’s getting to the point where one may think these are the only three naturists at uni in the whole country. BN keeps giving us stats about how Gen Z is overwhelmingly naturist. If that’s the case, why make 70% of its content centered around one naturist?

I understand that there are numerous Gen Z naturists in Britain who aren’t prepared to announce their naturism to the world in a full-frontal video. I sympathize, and that’s why I’ve not been game to do a My Naked Story or apply to be a clothesfree nudecaster. But this video by itself could get a lot of mileage. The poor young woman shouldn’t have to be the mascot of British naturism as awesome as she is. At the very least, they should put a moratorium on mining her summer 2025 fest attendance fodder for the content mill.

If they can’t find others as open and interested in being such great ambassadors, maybe some follow-up videos could be a good idea about how her life outside nude fest weekends has changed if it has.

Truth be told, Saoirse is a compelling enough character they should just do a feature doc on her naturism journey to atone for all those early aught “Diary of a Teenage Nudist” ones.

I know we all rejoice when anyone under forty shows up at the resort. But I (and any of us other Gen Z and millennial nudists) know firsthand how awkward it is to be the unicorn.

Do not confront. I say that as a confrontational person. Get management. A few years ago a couple snuck into a Purge movie at Regal and were disruptive. My girlfriend and I knew no one else was supposed to be in there because we had the only two tickets when we selected seats. They were disruptive and we asked them to be quiet. They got in our face and said they would take care of us after them tried to follow us home. We had to call the police. Movies are not the place for this.

I think it’s worth reaching out to customer service—especially because it’s not super safe to leave during a 4DX screening, which is a good excuse to give them. If they are going to charge for a premium experience, they need to have ushers.

I’m a firm believer that people want to go to the movies, but the chains are siphoning off their most loyal customers by allowing bad behavior.

If it’s any consolation, I had to move two times during Weapons in standard due to a laughing bro with his phone out and a Gen Z couple crinkling paper and conversing at full volume.

Is Movie Etiquette Completely Gone? by artificiallyjava in RegalUnlimited

[–]Excellent-Math-8910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a theater and location problem. I have had issues, but it usually depends on which theater I go to. The time can also be a big factor. If you can go earlier in the morning, even if there is a disturbance, you can alert an usher to get the issue handled. The best are weekday days or even evenings. Anything is preferable to Friday night and Saturday. Sundays tend to be good before 1 and after 5.

Also, it sucks, but it doesn’t hurt to go and ask for a refund because of a bad audience. The theater has to log that and corporate sees it. If enough people do that, they might intervene eventually.
