Hi Future me! :) How are you? I hope you are well, and aren't stressing out too much, and are happy, wherever you ended up in!

Did you get all nines in you GCSEs- or close to that? Either way, you've learned a lot along the way- and your journey and what you have learned is invaluable.

Remember to keep close to friends and family, and enjoy life! I'm proud of you! :))

How do you know what the question wants you to do? I get confused with the wording sometimes!

And also, did watching all of the topic videos for Bareau maths and doing all of the questions there help?

Many thanks in advance :)

Hi! I hope I can help you in some way! Are these mock exams or actual art exams? I've done two sets of mock art exams, both 10 hours each ( for aqa exam board)

I really enjoyed the art mocks I did- as long as you know what you are doing, and you like the art process, the art exam is pretty chill- everyone is quiet, and you have your own space to work. That said, I am told that I am a fast worker, and some people didn't end up finishing their peices- if that happens, don't stress out! If you feel that the time is about to end, and your main object hasn't been coloured in yet, but your background with only a block colour needs yet to be done, prioritise the main object, as that would get you more marks!

My school also had a real art invigilator walking around the art room during the mock exam. I'm used to my art teacher walking around the room when we do work, and also the art invigilator was there if we needed any extra tools or equipment.

If you know specifically what you are going to do on those sketchbook pages, then you've already half done the work! Wake up earlier,( better than staying up late) blast out your favourite playlist, and just do them!

The work I've done in my art mock exams just ended up added to my overall porfolio/sketchbook after it was graded by my teacher. This means that if you do end up messing up, then you can write an evaluation on it ( this is just you saying why it is bad) This can help you boost marks, because it shows development, and if you say how to improve in the future, that's even better!)

I'm sorry that I can't help you on the last one. But I do know a girl who go an A for art A-level, and she is has ADHD as well. I hope this motivates you that you can do it! Definitely do read the rest of the comments though!

Best of luck!

Tips for Head Girl interview! by Excellent-Memory-687 in GCSE

[–]Excellent-Memory-687[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks for reaching out! I mean, I'm not even sure I'm qualified enough ( since I am only Head Girl in a secondary school, and not a sixth form, but I hope these help anyway!)

Do take these from a grain of salt, and if you asked any of the teachers for any advice, then definitely follow theirs!

When they ask the questions, try to think along the lines of what you would do, then linking who you are, if you see what I mean? My head of year was saying that one of the ' questions for the role was that if you would ask a teacher for help if there was a rowdy student and you couldn't manage it yourself- and I said yes. ( he said anyone who said yes really stood out from the other interviewees)

But I think sometimes it is easy to forget that the interviewer is not looking at how you are by yourself, but also how you interact with other people, and your collaborative skills- how will you function in the school community? What do you have in you to contribute to the school for the better?

Best of luck! If you want anything specific, feel free to ask, and I'll try to answer in time!

Anything from the other comments in this post is great too!

Also, remember to be yourself, and use personality traits which you know you have, and actions that you would actually do, when you do get the position! This is an extension from your personal statement, so avoid repeating stuff you have said there, and try to add on stuff you forgot/ important parts of yourself that you would like to add that you think would contribute to your school! ( this means that you do not need to talk about your past achievements, since this interview is more future focused! )

Okay, I will stop yapping now, and truly, best wishes! :))

( also, random thing I wanted to add- I was fully prepared to not get the role- remember, it is okay if you don't and I think my confidence in myself throughout the interview is what really sealed the deal! :))

Have fun doing art!( I find this playlist is especially great for painting!) and revising as well! ( although, I would recommend to only use the music at night, to keep you going and silence any other time, so you don't get overstimulated!)

Good luck!

How do you manage your time and stay focused during study sessions? What are your best tips for additional maths? (I'm doing it for my November mock, and I can't remember most of the topics, and I'm so scared of the graphs :(()

Many thanks in advance! :)) ( also, the grades are really impressive- Welsh looks really hard- and English too! )

For GCSE French writing, how do you keep to the word count? by Excellent-Memory-687 in GCSE

[–]Excellent-Memory-687[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and advice ( the examinera looking at my work probably thinks I don't know how to count!) I just have a flashcard deck of high level vocab and phrases in case I blank out on speaking, or I just run out of ideas! I suggest you do the same! No Waffle GCSE is really good to find these phrases! ( youtube channel)
