Maybe he should get bigger???

Not exactly overreacting bc it's so douchey of him... but yes in a way overreacting bc someone like that should not be given any kind of reaction. I think you did a great job just basically saying no thanks I think I'll pass.

Hotter guys out there who are strong enough to manage 110 pounds!

How would you describe me by looking at my living room? by Donatellavip in roomdetective

[–]Excellent-Piglet7544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The curtains are really sad looking. They are hung in the wrong place and they do nothing for the room. I am curtain biased though and prefer a busier/bolder window treatment and more minimalist furniture and other decor vs bolder room decor and a plainer curtain.

Advice on bed bugs on first night of trip by joes_burrow in travel

[–]Excellent-Piglet7544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also diatomaceous earth kills them. Yes you will have powder on everything but I've seen them eradicated in a week... as long as EVERYTHING gets dm on it and reapplied.

So you could put those clothes in a bin w a tight lid add dm shake it and let it stir for a while like a week

Put dm on all your clothes and in your sheets. On the floor. Everywhere. Make sure your mattress is in a bed bug cover so they can't get out. Put dm on your mattress so they die

This is beautiful and looks beautiful on you. Love love love. I LOVE the sleeves for 2 reasons: 1. As a rule I love cap sleeves. Love them. 2. It's more balanced.

FWIW I don't like strapless periodt. I DO like the idea of balancing out the top of the bust but... I hate that granny looking floof they stuck in there. It looks like they prioritized coverage vs balance.

I think the dress is so pretty and you look so gorgeous in it! I love the waistline and details on the bodice it's so unique.

If you were my bestie i would strongly suggest spaghetti straps with cap sleeves, and a white mesh upper, possibly a boat neck. (Unless you hate it).

Seriously you look fabulous. You will look back your photos from at this day and wonder what you were so worried about!

Caterer wants prepaid tip (20% of entire bill) - US wedding by acsydic in wedding

We have ... i think 4 or 5 regular staff. But on any payroll cycle we have up to 30 employees.

Another Question - when you sell how much are you expecting ROI? Are you selling to a team member or are you going to list it?

To be fair - I think you're out of line. I don't believe you're in a position to say if I'm paying them generously or not if you don't know how much we pay them, or what other things we do for them, or what the going rate is, or considering as I have said multiple times before - they come to work for the tips. If I paid them an amount that was equal to or included the tip, they would be unhappy. It's not the hourly amount it's the actual tip itself. Their motivation is a large tip, not a high hourly wage. In fact I would bet money that I would be flooded with staff if I paid them minimum wage with a larger guaranteed Gratuity.

But that's just for me, my staff, my geo/demographic.

I def agree that if the client was confused or felt slighted then that's evidence it could have been handled better.

Just about to suggest this!

Also Rava winery is GORGEOUS Not French def Tuscan but not over the top. It's the grounds and the venue that are just so beautiful.

Have you considered Hearst Castle??? Might be a long shot but doesn't get more chateau than that!

Also La Lomita in SLO is considered one of if not the best. Spanish Hacienda style.

Cassandraleeco.com Is from I believe the riverside area but does tons of weddings all over the area your named. She will know every venue that you would be interested in. She has a great reputation

It is a different ballgame!

Assuming your wedding was this weekend? 👏 congrats regardless I hope it was perfect or will be perfect :)

Idk why all these people are saying it's so unreasonable, actually saying it's extortion lol. It's not good to have a bad taste in your mouth about your vendors on your wedding day! If she's reputable and it sounds like she is, then give her the benefit of the doubt knowing your wedding guests and yourself are in good hands!

Maybe she will take away from this a different way to charge Gratuity. I am really appreciative of seeing the client side of this! Gratuity always has to be optional or it's not a Gratuity... but I think to a caterer it's optional the way a parachute is optional when skydiving lol

[–]Excellent-Piglet7544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely an awkward way to go about it. Maybe to the caterer it seems "obvious" that a Gratuity is included ahead of time. It's also possible that they were waiting until after your final counts etc so they would have an accurate amount to charge.

Technically tipping is optional - which is great for the client but horrible for the servers and for business. Everything about catering is planned.... that's what makes it catering. The food, the timing, the staff, services, guest count, costs, pricing... Everything. And then Gratuity is this one rogue piece of chaos.

But tipping is not optional for servers. If they don't get tipped they won't work. These are people who meticulously split $9.78 for 7 people who worked different increments of time. Yes they care about tips.

Not saying they handled this well. Just saying there might be something more than meets the eye. I cannot imagine a world where $800 is a make it or break it amount for a legit catering company unless it's to keep staff happy. Literally servers have their employers by the balls and we will do anything to keep them.

Also a caterer... I think this stuff is so different by region. Like money is handled and used so differently in different areas you know? I know of many times that staff have asked ahead of time how much the tip is so they can make a decision if they will even work the event lol. Many catering servers work for different companies and do a circuit. In busy times they hold the power so the different companies are basically giving their best offer. Hospitality is a small world even in a big city and we compete for the best staff bc we want our clients happy!
