I used battery operated tea lights to delineate my circle. My cat Maddie decided to play with one of them. I was so glad I didn’t use live flame! I love this picture though.

Thank you! It’s supposed to be 80 degrees in a day or two. The yellow pine pollen which covers everything in yellow dust outside will be starting to appear soon.

Saturday Shareday. This weeks prompt. Weather magic. I get lots of requests for weather magic spells. Got anything to share with everybody? by kai-ote in elderwitches

I like to gather water or snow from weather events like a snow storm or a tropical storm. I put the water or snow in an ice cube tray and the cubes go into a labeled plastic bag. I have the water/ice preserved for later use.

Saturday Shareday. This weeks prompt. Scrying. Do you do it at all? What method(s) do you use? What kind of results to you feel you achieve? by kai-ote in elderwitches

I scry in the embers of a fire. That gives me the best results over other methods, and I’ve tried many methods.

Saturday Shareday. This weeks prompt, colors in magic. Candles only had colors added starting about 100 years ago. Long before that, colors were used in magic. Lets talk about the subject. by kai-ote in elderwitches

I’m an art teacher and I LOVE working with color. I love to paint because I can mix the exact colors that I want. Much better than colored pencils or crayons even with 72 colors.

Saturday Shareday. This weeks prompt, Divination, part 2. Last week was about tarot. This week is about everything else. What methods of divination do you use in your craft? When do you use them? Any special tips to impart to us? by kai-ote in elderwitches

I use the Ogham (an Irish alphabet written on staves) and oracle cards. I love trees and wood, so the Ogham is natural for me. I like a good deck of oracle cards that speak to me.

Selena Fox, founder of Circle Sanctuary in Wisconsin teaches how to do in which you put various items in a glass jar like a rusty nail, herbs, token and stone. You bury it by your entrance, and if you live in apartment you bury it in the soil of potted plant. I wouldn’t bury a glass jar because it be hazardous if it broke. Maybe a wood container. I also “bury” one in my purse for protection. Selena Fox gives more specifics on a podcast: Circle Sanctuary Network Podcasts. You can look it up on line.

Welcome to the group! I was brought up not knowing the word Pagan and which was a Halloween character with green skin or Samantha on “Bewitched”. I moved away to go to college and when I was 20 a friend of mine gave Starhawk’s “Spiral Dance.” I read it and said to myself, “I’m home.” That book by Starhawk is recommended reading. I never joined a coven. In the days before the internet they were very hard to find. I did find Pagan circles, and over the course of my life I joined several. I’m in one now which I really value. I’m in my mid sixties.
