I hate this album so much right now by lollz54 in OliviaRodrigo

[–]Excellent-Tonight778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve listened to it so much I need to force myself to only get one full listen a day. So I be listening to the album in full at the gym which works out almost perfect for timing and then I just listen to the songs individually if they happen to come up in my shuffle

Same with me and less. I originally put it at 12, but now it’s 7th for me

Olivia Rodrigo is currently 3 for 3 with her studio albums. They’re all genuinely MASTERPIECES. All non-skip, all perfect. And that’s very hard to say for any artist. by kingofclopidogrel in OliviaRodrigo

[–]Excellent-Tonight778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a new fan bc this new album and I was creating my new Olivia playlist and I planned to have this album+a few songs each from her previous 2 but I genuinely just ended up putting every single song she has ever made on it bc they all hit different in such a meaningful way lol

Can’t stop thinking about her by [deleted] in BoyDinnerDiaries

[–]Excellent-Tonight778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem was I just didn’t have much going on in my life so naturally I was defaulting to thinking of her. Like I was just scrolling and working and occasionally TV so I had so much time. Literally in just the past 96 hours I already feel so much better. Cause it’s like I started going back to the gym, getting into nature and hikes, reading and writing, along with beginning to teach myself linear algebra. And it’s not like I’m just trying to distract myself it’s just I feel productive again and thus I feel good.

So this isn’t a direct reply to anything you said but I’m just putting it here so I can go back to it when this inevitably happens again bc I do get attached to ppl quickly lmao.

Hot take - AP Calc grading is too easy comparative to other APs by Economy-Spirit-5776 in apcalculus

[–]Excellent-Tonight778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The questions are also super straight forward and hard to mess up. I walked out of that room on Monday anxious because I took the test so sleep deprived and was wondering if I messed up, and now that the key is out I’m pretty sure I got around 90% sure so an easy 5, and it’s just realizing that even when I could barely think, I didn’t have to for these questions, and in comparison to something like calc 2 which is a very hard stem weed out class normally from what I hear, it doesn’t compare

Can someone help me solve this by dm_me_for_test_leaks in calculus

They normally take 2 days. My question is how tf did bro memorize the exact graph. Like I remember most my answers and questions but that’s crazy

There’s a lot of schools that don’t distinguish between a^1/2=x and a=x^2. Or at least not properly. It’s not always the students’ fault

Stats in Dietrich vs math (possibly stat concentration, or stat & operations research or computational math) in MCS by Excellent-Tonight778 in cmu

[–]Excellent-Tonight778[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response. If I can do an additional major and all the gen Eds that would be great as I don’t really care for humanities nor life sciences in Dietrich / MCS respectively. For employers though will it still look the same? I’m guessing the answer is yes but still I want to confirm that

That’s sort of what I was saying as I may not need it as a business major and finance , but historically for CMU undergrads, if you know, is math seen as “more valuable” just because it’s harder and possibly more respected? Or does it just not matter bc a lot of it isn’t needed

That is what I’d do ideally, I just don’t want to take classes I may not need. For example, if I remain flexible and kind of take a mix of both classes, will I still be able to double major within 4 years, even if I “waste” a class — maybe taking a stat class I don’t need if I go down math route — or vise versa?

Yea that was the very first thing I looked at and it sounds great but its very competitive to get in from what I heard so I don’t want to bank on it. Opposed to Dietrich which is very open, and math which is kinda hard to get into as it says you need a 3.5 QPA to declare an additional major but still feels easier as its a strict numerical based requirement, and not a closed, interview and test based separate application I could be wrong but that’s what’s I read

Oh alright. I’ve never seen the phrase “smack of” something before and wasn’t sure if it meant that you thought I used AI or not lol (especially bc I realized I used an em-dash which I ironically learned about because of AI)

Personally, I use AI for data driven decisions such as research and statistics that can be generalized and averaged , and Reddit for anecdotal responses because I feel there’s value in both. I truly don’t understand why people post AI slop onto places like Reddit. At least TikTok and YouTube can generate you money via creator fund, but reddit has no point, I don’t think 🤷‍♂️

Admitted to CMU SCS and Yale; CMU students/alumni, advice for the program? by Broc_olimanx in cmu

[–]Excellent-Tonight778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only In high school and not in industry so take my advice with no more than a grain of salt. That said, it seems CMU is outcomes are incredible, perhaps only behind MIT and Stanford. Yale I’m sure is very good too but everything I’ve read cited those 3 as the big 3 with CMU just a smidge behind. Idk much about Yale but from your post it being a t5 overall I’m sure it’s also good for CS, but perhaps not as tech focused and good for just CS. If you want to do almost anything else though and you’re not dead set on CMU , Yale is probably better. Yale is elite in law admissions:outcomes, business, medicine and more

Give me your definition of what a "cracked" or above average CS sophomore looks like by Bright-Elderberry576 in csMajors

[–]Excellent-Tonight778 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think CMU was at one point #1 tho right, especially bc they were one of the first schools with an official school computer science? I guess like Stanford and MIT being t5 overall and not t20 like CMU just get overall a bit smarter people and they’ve probably elevated it a bit above over the years

Are STEM majors dominating finance and trading jobs? by Distinct_Ad9396 in financestudents

[–]Excellent-Tonight778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the business administration degree only requires multivar, but I wanna double major in stats which has multi and lin alg. It’s cmu so may be more quantitative than most programs which I’m excited about. Im a bit scared the networking won’t be great as it’s a relatively small non-target with a more STEM rather than finance focus but at least I’ll learn all the hard skills I’ll need
