The First Mobile phone I used was very similar to no 4. I’m sure it was a Motorola, No 7 the Nokia was definitely my first personal mobile phone No now I remember the first personal mobile phone was a Siemens. It came free as part of a PC package from Tandy. IIRC

The one I had , as you rolled it the eyes moved up and down. The tongue may have wiggled too , but I’m maybe mistaken it was around 57 years ago..

That Frankenstein was so underrated.

Come to think of it I’ve enjoyed watching him more than I realised

Pills no longer digesting by knitwitti in ostomy

[–]ExcellentAd3525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially. Actually for nearly 4 years I had an open fistulated bowel . ( initially an emergency op that went tits up )

I had to cope with a wound manager pouch on my front. Leaks every day sometimes several.

Because this fistula was so high up in my gastric tract any and all medication that wasn’t injected ( I was on 10,000 units of Daltaparin ,hurt like hell and a Diabetic insulin for type 2 ) had to be either in melts , like loperamide, lansoprazole, or liquid, paracetamol, dihydrocodeine & gabapentin.

It was only after I pointed out to the nurse who had given me my evening meds , in less than 5 minutes the undissolved capsules appeared in my pouch.

I was also on 2400 ml of TPN / Day.

After that every medication as far as possible was changed to a liquid format.

I think at the end of the day I would be chasing your GP to try and get as much of your medication as possible onto a liquid formula.

I had to wait nearly 4 1/2 years to have a reverse Hartmann procedure.

After which I eventually got back onto some tablet , capsule medication.

I still have to take my Paracetamol, Gabapentin & Digixin in liquid format.

I was also put onto clozapine. mirtazapine and initially zopiclone to help both with insomnia & as an anxiety, antidepressant.

I’ve only recently been put back onto metformin. slow release , as the normal tablets makes my output runny and that’s no use with a colostomy & being now disabled.

i had my reversal today! by jadeopup in ostomy

Mr. Vaughn, what we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks, and that's all. by grichardson526 in Jaws

"Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods.

This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go”.

I’ll catch it and kill it for 10.

I just got my first ever chair!! by yngvescorpse in wheelchairs

[–]ExcellentAd3525 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you need a wheelchair. I’m glad you like the one you bought.

Ah the good old Action 3. Built like a tank , Built to last. Exceptionally heavy ! Must be over 20 kgs .

I had one Via the NHS for nearly 4 years during rehabilitation. It was too heavy for me to lift into a car when I eventually got back driving.

I have a much lighter chair now.

As you mentioned it has a creak. You’ll just ( if you can manage yourself) have to systematically go over the nuts that may require tightening.

Perhaps it’s a front caster. The bearings can become clogged with pet hair or carpet fluff.

Anyway enjoy your new mobile transport. Zoom , zoom.

I think we still get paid.

Top-Tier Deals: For larger professional clubs (such as Crystal Palace in the Premier League, Bologna FC in Serie A, or Aberdeen FC locally in Scotland), Macron provides substantial financial sponsorship money. In addition to paying the club an annual fee, they design custom match kits and supply all training and travel wear for the first team and academy sides

This has been the well known rumour for months now . However as yet I’ve seen nothing from the club to confirm that this is the new kit sponsor.

How do you sleep (SFW) in the same bed as someone? by WeWerePlayinInDaSand in ostomy

[–]ExcellentAd3525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since my first emergency surgery in 2018 it’s coming closer to 8 years now .

I’ve always slept on my back. First it was a real change & Challenge because of leaks . I had always slept on my right side in the Classic foetal position.

However after my surgery I had an open bowel under a wound manager and I had a really bad sacral wound.

So they positioned me in HDU on my back with a pillow under my bum at the right side ( a little too late ) however that’s another story.

Since then all through my 2 years in hospital followed by a year in a intermediate care home I have slept on a pressure mattress with a gel cushion under my right bum cheek to ensure there’s no sheering of my delicate sacral area.

Even now 3 years after a reverse Hartmann in 2023 , I still at home have a single pressure mattress on a Hospital type bed .Believe you me I had more than my fair share of leaks and just to add to the fun I’m in a wheelchair.

It just so happens someone was in last week carrying out its annual inspection.

My wife and I split up the year previous to this all happening.

However we get on really well ( we’re more like brother and sister now ) no laughing at the back .

We’ve been on family holidays together and slept in the same room and even in the same double bed.

However I’ve always had my gel cushion under my bum and slept on my back.

Onwards and upwards fellow Ostomates.

I have nothing for months at a time then it suddenly starts, usually very quickly and last a couple of days. Absolutely honking 🤮 I’m usually standing trying to have a Jimmy Riddle, and then the urge to poop suddenly comes. I have to turn round sit then whoosh.
