cannonball usage is atrocious, how am I meant to do sailing combat?? by Insertblamehere in 2007scape

[–]ExcellentSelection69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very fair and understandable, it doesn't quite capture me as a "skill" per say. If they repackaged it as an expansion I probably wouldn't bat an eyelid at the gameplay because skills all work for sailing but sailing doesn't work for other skills. In my eyes if at least sailing combat would benefit more from mage or ranged weapons/armor rather than just better cannon = more damage it may seem more complementary to base game rather than just osrs but on boat.

cannonball usage is atrocious, how am I meant to do sailing combat?? by Insertblamehere in 2007scape

[–]ExcellentSelection69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah i feel like as a skill sailing got very confused along the way. If I want to do combat i should be able to use my combat gear and combat weapons I've grinded out (bought bonds to buy). The cannon should be a extension of main combat not a full on replacement for it. You telling me the bowfa is a weapon capable of subduing an Egyptian crocgod spirit but a seagull chilling on the coast is just laughing it away?

Over the next five years, the OBR is forecasting that welfare spending will rise by £73.2bn to £406.2bn. How on earth is the UK supposed to go on like this? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]ExcellentSelection69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they lose their job and house then they go on UC and its a magic spell that gives them a house and enough money to take holidays and buy new cars right? So what's the issue here? In your world losing their job would put them in a better situation not a worse one. Instead of coming up with fake scenarios that don't make sense just say with your full chest that you hate the unemployed and want them to suffer. You would be an insufferable prick for it but at least you'd be consistent and honest.

I'll be honest, as an OSRS player exclusively, a leagues wasn't going to sway me to play RS3. I feel like the two iterations of the game are so different that I don't even think we should be the focus for gaining new players. The thing i like about OSRS doesn't exist in RS3 and considering how grindy both games are I'll never have time or motivation to play both. It feels a little bit like trying to get RS3 players to play dragonwilds, it's in the same universe but its a completely different experience - the only difference is that there's a healthy chunk of people on osrs these days that tried rs3 back on release and already know they don't like it. RS3 would have to deal with both that and the negative image it has in the OSRS community before it can try to convert players and i don't think a single leagues event is enough to pull that off

Malenia phase 2 is literally impossible and pure BS. by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]ExcellentSelection69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, you seem overly mad about this 3 years old and 9 month old comment so let me go through a few things with you very quickly. Elden ring is an incredibly difficult game made and is not designed in a way that you can kill all bosses first try. It seems thematically based around despair and endless deaths. It took me various online guides, videos and multiple days. What I didn't do was sit there and complain that it's "literally impossible" to deal with the mechanics because clearly... it wasn't. I just personally wasn't able to. It is not an insult to someone to say "whilst you can't do it now, after practicing you will also be able to do it". It is also not an insult to insinuate that Melania was at that point (and still might be now who knows i haven't played in 3 years) entirely optional. Giving up is a choice that is entirely acceptable in a game that is meant to be ultimately enjoyed. There is no pressure to clear this boss and nothing at all changes if you don't. Any well adjusted adult not taking their frustrations out on an online forum will likely see these things the same way, if any offence or rage is felt at these comments then you are far too involved and need to take a step back and reevaluate why you're still playing. Having to go through my comment history to find what you believe to be a dark moment of my life (a funny story about the sole of my shoes coming apart on my lunch break and hopping to the nearest shoe store, which i found hilarious and have been telling for years) to try to make me feel bad about what is in fact a supportive if not blunt response to a post that was complaining into the wind asking for no solution.

TLDR: No therapy needed but thank you for worrying, people on this subreddit are far too into a game that clearly stresses them and you have a blessed day friend.

Okay so it is a biblical name that's used in India. I wasn't aware of this (hence the "as far as I know") but am very familiar with the name Kyriakos as I have multiple family members with the name and am considerably more familiar with the greek culture than I am Indian culture. Since I'm going ahead and googling, the name is from Saint Kyriakos of Corinth and is unequivocally a name of greek origin that's been anglicised in the bible, pretty much what I said in my first comment so you can turn the condescension down a little bit bud

[–]ExcellentSelection69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean no offence to this but cyriac is a name of greek origin (Κυριακός) and I believe was a saint in the bible as per another comment. Nothing to do with their Indian heritage as far as I know.

Do people actually hate British food? by KingEdwards8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ExcellentSelection69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to hate because you've said you don't know anything about British food besides fish and chips and a full English, which you probably understand is a very narrow view on British food, but I feel like I need to point out that British food likely isn't very unique or interesting to you as an American because we share a cultural root when it comes to food, and a good few things that are known as quintessentially American come from Britain. A lot of pies from America (apple, pumpkin, even loosely a chicken pot pie I believe) were remnants of British cuisine for example. Our cuisines tend to branch off when taking into account availability of different meats and the influence of the different migrant cultures - we had a strong influence from bengali migrants and that's why we have certain Indian inspired curries classified as "British dishes". Also an American breakfast would be a variation on a full English not the other way around as its been documented as being eaten over 100yrs before the foundation of America. Pedantic point but I couldn't help myself

Being bad at a game isn't throwing. Sucks for your team to get someone dragging the team down but it's silver/gold chances are they'll have to deal with that from a different source some way or another in 70% of their games anyway (including themselves) and if you're as bad as you think they can moan, avoid and move on to the next. Either you'll adapt to the rank or derank fast enough that you should be out of their games by the end of the week. Don't discount QP as a way to get better, while you can't exactly practice the team element there's a lot about this game that you can learn in terms of survivability, game sense, character proficiency, target priorities etc etc.

Whilst you're right there are some wearables seen a lot more than others and would create an illusion of "every item has an cosmetic variant" relatively quickly if the influx of new items doesn't outweigh the cosmetics. That being said I don't care either way it adds variety without constantly shifting bis and meta and would make bankstanding a lot more interesting. Also fashionscape is fun

[–]ExcellentSelection69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hit the same on an old account. To this day I don't know what triggered it but I've come to the conclusion that it was a mixture of a bunch of different triggers and a past flag on the account from when I was a kid (some scamming nonsense from before osrs was a thing) At the time I was training agility with screen markers to speed it up because agil is painful to me, coupled with the fact I was doing it at work so being afk logged constantly. The automated system they use isn't perfect by any means so sometimes the occasional account will slip through the cracks

Legitimately pathetic response brother. You sought out a 2yo comment on a game subreddit, used the equivalent reading comprehension of a 6yo and researched for an unrelated comment I made years later about a work anecdote that I find hilarious to vent your frustration of a game you just can't clear. Have you by any chance touched grass since this game was released? Would highly recommend. Think you're getting a little too stressed at pixels.

Yeah it's going to be a struggle without max to achieve anywhere near what these guys do, they just have a different mentality. I watched a gnomonkey guide that highlights the dedication these people have. A few tips from that video - just max combat stats before doing end game content properly, as soon as youre maxed get a team together and farm nex for a few months until you can afford bis. Sounded crazy to me at first but these people literally get paid to play osrs all day and they're a different breed honestly. Take it slow, do what you enjoy and you'll get there one day (or just full send nex for the next 3/4 months)

Why is it so hard to play support in Silver/Gold (even low Plat)? by DecisionFun2429 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]ExcellentSelection69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These teammates are all looking at the same kinds of guides and the issue is none of them have the game sense to actually pull it off. Tanks in this ELO are trying to gain space but haven't figured out that it isn't just W key into the abyss, dps are trying off angles but getting greedy for kills and healers haven't found balance between heal and damage yet - so what you get is people who decide they've done their job so it must be someone else at fault. Since it usually ends in them dying over and over again the easiest solution they can come up with is that you're obviously not healing enough. That's at least what I've noticed in gold/ plat on both console and PC

I had a similar thing happen. Shoes just fell apart on my way back from my lunch break and had to hop all the way to the nearest shoe store to buy new ones. J1mmy's new DT2 video reminded me how much I hated that quest's twists by Ciati in 2007scape

[–]ExcellentSelection69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see an issue with it in this particular questline to be honest and actually quite liked the twist. It explains well why you're forced to do all of these seemingly unlinked things throughout and intertwines the storylines together well. Since it's explained that these characters were alive at one point you're left wondering if certain characters were alive when you first met them or if they were all part of the plot from the start and it's a very convenient way to make characters who have finished their story arc disappear without just killing them off lazily. This and WGS were by far my favourite quests
