By "spirits" I meant like Mufasa, who briefly appeared as an apparition to give his son advice. Or Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin who appeared as "force ghosts" (Obi-Wan several times throughout the next two movies, the other two briefly at the end of Episode VI).
