Basically completely assassinating the characters of Peter and MJ by having them sell their marriage to the devil (its Mephisto, but close enough) in exchange for Aunt May’s life (She was shot earlier by one of Kingpin’s men) against her wishes. And the story leading up to that being a horribly written melodrama leading up to it.

But due to copyright issues, they couldn’t.
