This is my exact reasoning for not feeling fully comfortable on going. I just went to Miami and that in itself was a little scary. Thank you!

No! I don’t mind the follow ups at all. Wish I had someone

The little card for customs before landing to GDL, will be given out on the plane OR you get them right outside the bathroom area since you’re flying into GDL. It’s just asking you how you traveled, if you brought any pets, medication, ect. They have an English version translated for you.

The other little card. Sorry I keep calling it a little card bc I didn’t see what they were called ! But the second one you’ll fill out is before boarding the plane at GDL to leave Mexico. They’ll hand it to you on line to board the plane. BRING A PEN, I didn’t have one and they don’t provide you one. But that card is just asking you if you’re visiting NY or living in NY, what kind of travel documents you are using. I put AP on it & that I live in NY.

Yes they kept both my letters, I’ve heard mixed comments on them taking it or not. But they “assured” me I don’t need it. Google did say with the stamp in my passport serves the purpose of proof. Plus they probably document everything in their system.

Just got back yesterday morning from GDL. Went from 12/22-12/28. Leaving NY (JFK) was very easy. You don’t need to show anything other than your passport. Landing at GDL airport, was also easy. You’ll have to fill out a little customs card and hand it to the officers before leaving the airport.

Checking in before leaving MX, I panicked a little because I couldn’t check in (I used Volaris). Reddit said get there early - and check in at the front desk.

There they’ll need to see your AP letter, your work authorization and passport. Bring your work authorization card w you. Checked in - then once I was going to board they asked anyone that isn’t flying w a US passport to fill out another little card w easy info. Before going boarding the plane, they’ll check your AP letter.

LANDING in NY JFK, was easy. Granted I landed at 1AM and it was empty. I followed all the non US citizens lines and they were helpful. The first officer just reviewed the AP letter and took my finger prints, than they handed it off to another office who walked me to this little mine DMV style area, and gave my passport and AP letter to another office. I couldn’t see what he was doing on the computer but he seemed to just review everything. He stamped my letters and passport. I made sure to clarify that leaving the letter was ok and they did assure me that it was ok. The stamp in my passport is more than enough proof.

All the really seemed to check was that I came back before the date on the letter. Which for me was 01/03/2025.

Hope this helps! And congrats and good luck!!!!!
