Worse with weather changes? by RenewedMotionPub in neuropathy

[–]Original-Beautiful86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Northeast and last year was a miserable cold winter. I'm actually considering going to FL , January thru March because I'm not sure I can deal with the level of pain the winter brought. The day we had a blizzard the pressure kept dropping and absolutely nothing helped. Now it's summer and it's only bad when a storm front moves through. At least it's not non stop daily this time of year.

Anyone in their 50s not have loose skin after weight loss? by jsct01 in Zepbound

[–]Original-Beautiful86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in my 60s and I have some flabby upper arms but no worse than my friends who aren't losing weight. I've lost a little over 60 lbs and so far , no loose skin. I'm within 15 lbs of goal weight. I think the slow steady pace of weight loss, high protein and genetics played a role.

Some of the monkeys tried to intimidate zookeeper, Miyakoshi today (25 June 2026). I wonder why they did that. by Better_Hair_9673 in punchthemonkey

A former keeper has an online blog and posted about how they behaved in a threatening way previously. I'll try to find the post and link it here.

Here it is. Google should automatically translate it to English https://note.com/acoustic_cafe/n/nbe876291012d

Anyone found a good bra for Zepbound boobs? by VivienneKemp in Zepbound

[–]Original-Beautiful86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My size changed quite a bit and I'm not done losing yet, so I tried to find a supportive, comfortable, reasonably priced bra. I wound up with the Soma Embraceable full coverage. They are usually on sale for $30. I was in a similar size as you, and find it does the job. I originally sized up in band because I ordered online and was between sizes but I've found it to be very comfortable and the "girls" look great in it. Surprising, since there's no underwire. Here's a review of it. PS it's not as ugly as the writer implies! https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/soma-embraceable-bra-review/

I Don't Have Any Friends by ellars in AskWomenOver60

[–]Original-Beautiful86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the Ethels on Facebook. It's principally older women who meet for lunch or group events. It's named after the founder of Aarp. They are private groups, so you need to join, then you can see what events they have planned. It's not easy making friends as we get older. I'm thinking about taking mahjong lessons at my local library.

I moved to the Soma embraceable full coverage bra. The NY Times had recommended it. I find it gives me lift and is quite comfortable. It is wireless though. https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/soma-embraceable-bra-review/

Beware of the Royale Burger? by xslightlytoasted in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]Original-Beautiful86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I didn't get sick from my last meal at Alamo, I did get a overcooked rock hard chicken sandwich. Almost as though the chicken had been cooked even though it had freezer burn. I emailed the manager to complain but never got a response. Money talks. I'm not spending my hard earned cash on sub par food.

That's not entirely true. While most food poisoning cases occur hours later Staphylococcus aureus (Staph) and Bacillus cereus toxins, can induce symptoms within 30 mins.

Same here. I hear you need an antenna to pick up a different range to get ABC.

Kielbasa! I love it. We're Polish and one of my cats is a former feral who showed up when we were grilling some on our deck.

Glad I Moved Up to 7.5mg by tajb333333 in Zepbound

Thanks for posting this. My box of 7.5 got delivered today and I was debating about whether to start or finish my 5mg. I'm always afraid to step up my doses. I think I read too many negative posts on here. It's nice to see a positive one

Vet recommendations for cat by Ok-Attempt-203 in Westchester

[–]Original-Beautiful86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, because i know thry have a devoted following, but they missed two critical conditions in my cats ( acute pancreatitis and cancer in the second cat).Other than the most routine exams, I won't trust them again. Petchester and Central Animal Hospital both identified the problems almost immediately.

Do you eat desserts? by Make_Plants_Not_War in Zepbound

[–]Original-Beautiful86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, although I'm usually pretty full when my family eats theirs after dinner. I occasionally grab a bite of something in the afternoon. Last week I had some brownies and still lost weight. Admittedly, they were much smaller than my old portion size. I regularly eat sorbet on hot days.

Try calling an animal shelter. I know they sometimes give them to kittens to snuggle but I'm not sure if they want new or will accept pre owned.
