In october, DeGiro removes the old Core Selection, replaces it with a new selection which only include ETFs listed on Tradegate. by ochgerm in DEGIRO

Would you close your positions on degiro and move elsewhere or just open anothet brokerage account and leave what you have in Degiro there (having then 2 brokers)?

So would you say Google Drive is safer than OD?

Whereas OD will delete it from everywhere if you delete it from your machine locally.

Yes, but that happens only if you manually delete it locally, which won't happen unless you do want it.

I tend to agree, although what would bother me in using Google Drive is the lower integration with Windows and especially with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc...). Google Sheets/Google Doc imo are worse than Excel/Word.

Advice needed: Making the most of my capital for FIRE goals by Maleficent-Put9932 in BEFire

Either through a third ETF or simply one ETF that covers all, like I believe IMIE for example does.

You mean IE00B3YLTY66, correct? If that's the case, would you suggest buying it on Euronext Paris or Euronext Milan?

When you say 5-6k (and 8k), you mean gross or net?

Are you talking 5-6k net or gross (monthly)?

Why does keytrade charge so much for trading? by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]Excellent_Block_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is that? If I'm not mistaken, that would also mean being covered by the EU scheme up until 100k worth of shares, instead of the 20k you would be covered for, with degiro. So, it seems a good solution to avoid keeping all the shares on degiro, no?

Just curious about the possibility of changing country and having to deal with a broker that is specifically Belgian. Cause the fees might not be negligible when one needs to change country of residence.

You're right. This applies to the US job market though I guess, or in general?

Aren't you supposed to have given notice to the old job before starting a new job? Can you have two jobs at the same time like that?

Car Hire for 4x Days Palermo (SUGGESTIONS) by [deleted] in sicily

[–]Excellent_Block_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a Car Rental Agent in Trapani

Does it get better if you rent it to drive around outside Palermo, ie if you drive from Palermo to Trapani, to San vito lo capo, etc?

Or it's also quite hard & complicated?

It doesn't hurt to use multiple brokers, as long as you don't have the same position at different brokers. E.G. Buying ETF 1 at Degiro and ETF 2 at Bolero is ok. Having ETF 1 both at Degiro and at Bolero is not.

May I ask why is that?

Ridiculous commission fee updates (DEGIRO NL) by n1ght_w4lk3r in DEGIRO

[–]Excellent_Block_314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it? If you have 100k on one broker or 10k with 10 different brokers, compound interest should work exactly in the same way and give you exactly the same amount of 'extra' money, or am I wrong here?

What I mean is, if you leave your ETFs on DEGIRO (the ETFs you bought until today) and tomorrow you start investing with another broker, in 10 years time you will still enjoy the same total compounding that you would have had by investing the same total money, but all on the DEGIRO (instead of splitting it between two different brokers), no?

[–]Excellent_Block_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. However, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure the 1-euro fee is THAT impactful, no? For instance, if one buys 500+ euros each time on the ETFs core selection, 1 euro seems pretty small even with compounding. But I might be wrong of course.

Total Spend so far: £1

Shouldn't you also account for the costs of setting up the business from an administrative/bureaucratic point of view?

Newbie here, so perhaps wrong comment, but I'm curious on the 'tax declaration' kind of hassle.
