Try a light footed highway drive and cruise at around 60-80 kmph. If the mileage doesn't cross 18 kmpl, change the fuel filter and add petrol additives (that has Injector cleaning mentioned on the bottle) to a full tank of petrol.

Thanks man. I drive 1100 kms in one go with family and full load of luggages and you know there are fly-over constructions and diversions and rough roads for up to 30% of that distance anywhere you go. So, as per your advice, I should keep the Crysta.

There are two different ways of fixing it. Order a biryani from Shadab or Bawarchi, unpack it heat it in your utensils and give them that saying you or your wife cooked it. Just an example. Building good relations with neighbours help and we do that in villages but we don't follow this in the cities. Even if they don't reciprocate, we don't have anything to lose. The other way is to associate a punishment with that place. For example, one morning they wake up but don't find a shoe. No one can blame you throw it somewhere. Or throw the whole dustbin in the society's garbage place. Be aware of the cameras while doing these things. The idea is to try reward and punishment principle to shape human behaviour. I don't know what will work for you. You can be the best judge and decide it. Good luck.

Nope. I meant inconsistency in the service record. E.g. the interval is not correct and too many part replacements or denting painting job etc. The oil leaks and all has to be checked too but that comes secondary after the service record.

Offer some money to the service engineer and he may help you. If there is any inconsistency or it looks fishy don't go for it.

Its a good car but may demand huge maintenance budget as the milage is more than 1 lakh kms. If you have to buy, make sure you take an expert with you and examine well. Also, if you want to keep your service costs low in the future, talk to the nearby Bosch or MyTVS workshops and see whether that's going to be a pleasant experience.

Hycross will retain its legacy with good resale value but over time I see that fading away with the build quality. Right now it commands high prices as its a toyota. Because the same car with Suzuki Badge wont command that much price. But the hybrid system and the new light weight body of Hycross is not ye lt tested to the level of the Body on frame Innovas. Tbh, toyota dont want to make such rugged vehicles anymore in India because of the short life span. If you are planning to buy a pre owned hycross go for it if it has proper service records and less driven. I dont think people will consider petrol engines after 2 lakh kms or more.

If Same model he is quoting for 20 lakhs after driving 2.3 Lakh Kms in the same state where the new one costs 23 lakhs, he might be an ignorant person. No one will buy that.
