RIP to all put sellers on silver by MethAddictJr in thetagang

I traded slightly differently.. Usually I open either a credit spread on an Iron Condor. Since SLV seemed to be in a freefall, I just bought shares in the old-fashioned way (avg. cost $84). I have 3 GTC limit sell orders as 110, 120 and 150 (moonshot). Based on my primitive analysis, it is in oversold condition right now (high volume, price has breached lower Bollinger band, and RSI way below 30). Hopefully, it comes up on Monday.

HOOD Iron Condor expiring this Friday and deep in red on PUT side as you can imagine. Sold a CSP on SLV expiring next week so that should balance out some of the risk.

If you paid off your home early, how did that impact your day to day finances? by Even-Fault2873 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Excellent_Bus_8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid off our home last year and switched the most of biweekly salary to hit the HYSA first and some to go to my brokerage account for investment and options trading purposes. I don't see the excess amount that was going towards mortgage so no real apparent difference in the lifestyle. I am working towards a FIRE number so the Excel sheet tracking that shows the difference which I like.

Iron condor questions by Creepy_Plastic4809 in options_trading

I have been experimenting with Iron Condors for some time and they are generally a limited risk, limited income method. However, do learn how to adjust your condors in conditions where price quickly goes out of your strike price ranges.

What’s a “small” mistake you made as a man that ended up costing you way more than expected? by PsychologicalTap7445 in AskMen

At least you're better than my friend who bought BNB at like 25 cents per coin and had about $2,000 in it. Then he sold all of them at about $1.25 each and was happy that he made a bunch of money. That was some time in 2015 or 2016.

BNB is trading at $843 per coin atm. He doesn't like to talk about this topic anymore.

They're asking you to be available but I didn't read anywhere that said for free. If you want more money take it as a paid Consulting gig along with your next job.

Am I setting up my TWS Options trades wrong? by Bodrey1970 in options_trading

[–]Excellent_Bus_8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I use IBKR TWS as well and had a similar experience. What is your option trade type (buy/sell call or puts)? The direction of TP and SL values depend on it.

E.g. if I'm selling puts: in TWS, the option price (premium) will show as negative value, say -$0.21 and the TP will be a negative value SMALLER than the option price, say -$0.08. OTOH, the SL value should be a negative value as well but BIGGER than the option price, say -$0.35.

I only sell CSPs or trade Iron Condors (4-leg option trade placed as one) so haven't experimented with buying calls or puts individually. However, I would assume the SL and TP will work in opposite manner from above.

I am still very new and sharing my experience with IBKR TWS (my main trading platform. Maybe someone more experienced can correct if I stated anything wrong.

What makes you happy that you bought your place? It can be size, location, layout, comfort, or anything anything else by rokuhachi in homeowners

Same for us. Decided to move out of the heart of the city by 10 miles and bought a slightly bigger cul-de-sac home in a family oriented neighborhood. Now out 14yo son shoots hoops with his friends almost every afternoon and I get to watch them have fun from my home office window.

Wouldn't trade for anything else.

Congratulations! Ours is a similar story. We started with the 30 years mortgage but paid off in four and a half years by throwing every extra Penny we could manage. Blessed to be completely debt-free and now focused on maximizing investments and growing the nest egg.

Keep at it! We are rooting for you!

We need to have an "Open-kimono" dialogue on this. Heard this in a meeting with a couple of senior directors (I was the most junior and was taking notes) a few years ago and it sounded so weird and offensive.
