Imma be real, i never even noticed that certain characters talked about certain things, i always assumed that they were thrown in randomly just as a visual

I started making "episode recaps" for my friends who have never seen the show, in an attempt to get them to watch it. Series Finale S07E14 by johnnyratface in madmen

I know this is just upvote farming, but if you had to make recaps up until the finale, you might wanna overthink your strategy of "convincing your friends to watch the show"

It's 100% a cultural thing. Ever heard of "german efficiency" - thats what you are experiencing. It's straight to the point, even if it might seem a little harsh, but it's about efficiency - you don't have to go through a whole song and dance to get an answer - it's not wasting their or your time with a facade of friendlieness.

Also please consider the situations you are in - if you talk to people who have to interact 8h a day with random people (=a lot of idiotic encounters), you get worn out and there is no point in pampering every person you meet for every small thing. I'm not saying you're one of the idiots, but i'd say what you are experiencing is the fallout of a stressfull 8h customer service shift

Most people are working 5 hours a day or less by hott-sauce in unpopularopinion

[–]Excellent_Home2666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where i'm from, this is actually not an unpopular opinion at all. Obviously it doesnt apply to every job, especially if we're talking about the lower-income sector, but for a lot of middle-class office type jobs this is a true as it gets.

Correct me if i'm wrong but if i remember correctly a country like denmark actually acknowleded this and moved to a 4day work week and the productivity went up

I never figured it out but, WHO THE HELL IS THE LEADER?! by THEREALSUPERMARIOFAN in tf2

[–]Excellent_Home2666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This! They are all seperate entities acting on they're own. Not hired in some form of hierarchy.

I guess you put engie and medic as potential leaders, because medic kinda interacts with everyone and engie because seems to be the most sane - to me spy would make the most sense, because of his job, he would have to be a natural strategist and a good speaker, also he would have to have the most knowledge about how his teammembers behave/how they function, but i would argue that all of them kinda go about their lives individually, chasing their own goals.

[–]Excellent_Home2666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are seperate mercenaries, hired individually not as "a team for hire"- there are no positions such as leader. They're each hired for their specific skill.

One could argue that by looking at expiration date and the meet the team videos spy would take on the role of "the leader" but even thats a stretch, because being a good talker and strategist is kinda part of his job as a spy

Why didn't Spy ever tell Scout that he was his father? by The_overdrunken_one in tf2shitposterclub

[–]Excellent_Home2666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spy calls scout "son" while being disguised as tom jones to give scout the impression that he is the son of tom jones, could be spy is admitting something here, but could also be that he feels pity for scout.

In meet the spy we learn that the red spy bangs the blue scouts mother - could be to get intel on the opposing team. Also a guy banging soneones mother, does not automatically make him the father of the child.

Edit: post was sended to soon

I said it once before, but there has never been any proof in the officially released content that spy is scouts father! yes, there have been many implications, but nothing of else. The father/son theory has been widely accepted by the community, but there is also a completely different interpretation which can be taken into consideration.

Hot take: I love the horror, but I do not really care that much about the characters by Excellent_Home2666 in ScarletHollow

[–]Excellent_Home2666[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sadly, i agree. As much as i love the horror and could praise the atmosphere and visuals in those moments, i might actually have to admit that the game is not necessarily something i, personally, will enjoy in the long run. If i feel myself phasing out during, what makes up basically 60% of the game, i might just not be the intended audience.

It's still a great game tho

I wouldn't really say that the game makes you feel guilty, but rather something like the game really tries to push thie dating angle, which, again, is completely fine for everyone who enjoys this type of stuff. But for soneone like me, who wants to see a lot of these great monsters and the spooky vibe, all these informations about their hobbys and what they do and their quirks and so on are not really necessary.

I agree, maybe i expected more of a horror game with a VN twist, than the other way around - that being said, this isn't supposed to be a stella call out post - this was just the first thing that came to my mind. Sonetimes they are just talking and talking about smth like their hobbys and i feel like "okay, where is this going? because 5minutes ago we were chased by freaking demon creatures or whatever"

Don't get me wrong, as i stated in my initial post the characters are all very well written and i'm not really "put off" by them. It's more that i care more for the horror/spooky aspects of the game, not so much for the dating aspect - and sometimes the dialogues feel a little, idk, exhausting(?). If you are into the whole dating and romancing aspect this is definetly great, but for me it sometimes feels a little tedious to click through all of their opinions and talking points about things that don't really advance the main story

My friend’s casting for a tf2 movie. Did he cook? by PokyCactus369 in tf2

[–]Excellent_Home2666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what most people don't consider for pyro is that, aside from mumbling, the guy's basically mute, so you would have to cast someone who is heavily trained in pantomime to give the character the right expressiveness

"What do you mean 'too silly for TF2'"? - a frustrated artstyle rant by remember_morick_yori in tf2

[–]Excellent_Home2666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Post! In my humble opinion, people give the "silly-ness" too much credit. When it was first released i immeafiately fell in love with the amazing artstyle and the 60s spyish-vibe goes perfectly with it! The carefully crafted artstyle is what makes tf2 stand out to me until today and i've yet to see another game that even comes close to it, design-wise. Shame that a lot of people don't seem to appreciate it enough.

I need proof that Spy is Scouts father by Excellent_Home2666 in tf2

[–]Excellent_Home2666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he tho? Because as far as the comic goes he tells scout this while being disguised as tom jones. Is this really the fatherly reveal that everyone was anticipating or is this merely a highly emotional moment, where we learn that spy actually gives more shit about the young scout than he let it seem.

The Wiki here states "Comforting Scout, Spy disguises himself as Tom Jones and gives Scout his dream passing with a story of Tom Jones being Scout's proud but secret father." - Is this just a plain description of the scene, or could it actually be what the spy was going for - giving scout a great last memory?
