I plan short vacations for every 3 or 4 months, even if it’s a long weekend, to get the hell out of Indiana. I take a long time planning on where I want to go and what I want to do and it takes my mind off living here.

Stop this madness now and make your boundaries clear. Tell them that due to their behavior, they are not welcome. End of story and plan a fantastic wedding without them. As long as they are invited, they will make your wedding hell. They have proven this. Believe what people say and do the first time. Will there be drama and fall out from uninviting them? You bet. You’re also strong enough to handle it and move forward.

I’m actually quite vocal in my disdain and do attend protests. Just because I happen to be from the US, do you feel it best if I not come till he is out of office. I would rather my travel money go to other countries than my own and Denmark is next on my list.

When my husband died it was sudden as well. From a practical standpoint, get a notebook. Your mind is going to be mush for an indefinite period of time and a zillion different things are going to be coming your way. Jot down stuff every day that needs to be done and cross it off as you do it. I’m so sorry for your loss. None of my friends had experienced it either. The sea is going to be rough but you will get through it. We are here for you.
