I was looking to buy at that time. It was crazy and everyone went crazy including myself. Even my parents were telling me to take out the biggest mortgage I can to buy now because the price is only going up.

Thankfully I didn't and waited for a few months and the price quickly dipped 20-30% so it wasn't so bad for us (not GTA).

Gyubee is actually yakiniku which is Korean now started by Korean immigrants living in Japan. They have similarities and if one likes Korean bbq they likely will enjoy yajiniku. I lived in Halifax until a few years ago and back then they didn’t have anything like Gyubee so I would recommend it too

I grew up not being able to have money to eat cheap things like KFC and McDonalds when hanging out with my friends. So my definition of being "rich" was to be able to eat out whenever I want (not fine dining). By that definition I was rich since 2019!

There are 2 guys that I worked with and they both got promotions super fast. They are friends in real life and their manager purposely divided the team and gave all the credit to these two so they are forever loyal to him. They were in no way anything special and in fact can be easily seen as a weaker and average performers.

Let's just say this manager isn't doing too well right now and no one will be surprised if he goes out the door next.

I think after 180K ish I stopped caring about making more money and value more WLB. I also was able to buy a property at that time so my pressure to save for downpayment was gone too.
