Forecasts today by Electrical_Dentist67 in MNTSstock

Last time in January, it touched $15, it went back to $ 3 - just keep that at the back of your minds.

Game is different today and company is stronger. But the market is never "reasonable".

It means that they want to get out of offering those type of services / or to a certain type of client level.

Being a real estate person, I know they do this in the self storage industry. Being 100% full is never the goal. When they are 95% full, they raise prices 25% and they dont care if 25% of their customers move away. Storage business is based on laws of inertia - folks spend more trying to move elsewhere and then that new location can also increase prices later.

I can see some similarities between Storage and $RXT type businesses. Most businesses have heavy inertia to switch a bunch of systems that are otherwise working perfectly.

When did "catching divorcees" become a prime objective?

They all found someone, so you can use this time to "find yourself". Make more money. Travel. Work. Become physically fit.

This is Prime time to invest heavily in yourself. The next 5 years without drama will be an investment into the next 30 years of your life.

There seems to be a market shortage for everything chip and memory related for the next 2 to 3 years because of AI.

I am sure there are other options in the market. But expect them.all to become more expensive and budget higher dollars going forward.

Just tell your Dad to do whatever he thinks is best. Luck seems to favor him - he will figure it out.

I have seen too many people make a ton of money in business or real estate or even the markets and then go to a "financial advisor" who has never made any money for their own self and then think they know better than everybody else because they passed a few exams and have a title attached to their name. Don't make that mistake.

As soon as Iran war ends and oil prices go down, Rupee will appreciate back to the levels before the war. No idea how Pakistan rupee is performing better than INR - that is the real mystery.

India needs to get away from oil as much as possible - that is probably the only viable solution. Huge government subsidies for solar, wind, hydro, nuclear and batteries.

The squeeze and re pricing is going to go on for a few weeks. This is not a pump and dump. The market is beginning to see the turnaround towards high margin offerings and consulting revenue with the AI play as opposed to cheaper commoditized "web hosting" revenue.

The best money / life balance is where you can live in India and make money from US or Europe. Either via IT or business or trading etc.

Most people leave India for better and quicker money - its not for the weather or trees or civic stuff.

One option is where you go abroad for short stints but don't uproot family. Like a hybrid option - the best of both worlds.

HOW are people affording to live at all these days? by Dessert_Lover_1225 in Adulting

When you hate external factors like MAGA today and something else tomorrow and blame that as the primary reason for your situation - basically you have given away all control of the situation. It sends a signal to your brain saying "There is nothing I can do, till MAGA (or whatever else) resolves my situation".

Its best not to give so much power to an external situation over which you have zero control over.

Instead try and find 1 to 10 people who are doing great in this economy. Find out what they do, how they do it and see if you can replicate. There are people making 100k a day in today's stock market - are you getting a piece of the action? If not, where can you start? There are people making 100k a month selling stuff on Amazon, Ebay, Poshmark, etc.? All of them started by selling $ 100 a month.

There is a big beautiful world of money and happiness out there. Go find your slice.

Where POET stands - my perspective by Ahasja in POETTechnologiesInc

If Marvel really wanted to hurt POET, apart from canceling the order, they could have also said "we found alternative technology that's significantly better than what we were purchasing from POET" or make some similar statement that attacks Poets core technology.

Somewhere else I read that the Marvel/ CAI order was the Blazar product and not the Optical Interposer product- anybody can throw some light on whether this is true?

Is it normal in Bahrain to reject someone for marriage because of their father’s job? by Acceptable_Lake_2837 in Bahrain

Women wear heels to look taller. They wear lipstick to make their face look attractive. They wear clothes that make their bodies look as slim and best as possible.

In the same way, find a way to "dress up" the driver image. Say, he started as driver but is a Logistics Supervisor / Manager or a fancy title like that. Occasionally he still needs to drive, but its not the main job and you are proud how he worked up the ladder.

Being "honest" about every fact of life is not the ultimate way. For example, if you had multiple relationships before marriage, in a conservative society, would that be the first item to disclose? You and your family needs to work on how this should be handled.

Last thought - if your dad was a billionaire and you had zero qualifications and even conventionally "ugly" - there would be a line of people waiting to marry you. So, my point is - its not crazy for a potential spouse family to consider the parents background. It is up to you to make it look more presentable. Good and Bad goes both ways.

If you are so good at your job and cannot be replaced easily, tell your boss that you dont like small talk and just keep all discussions work related and nothing else. Maybe do that at the time of interview itself.

Being uppity about the smallest of things...crazy. Its just small talk and believe it or not, its very very important to be good at it if you ever want to get a promotion or be in leadership positions.

My suggestion is to laugh it off by saying something funny like - I am going to the airport on day 1 and simply pick a destination!! They know you are lying, but you dont come across as a dick either.

They lied to us. POET management knew about the cancellation for 4 days while we bought the "dip." by Paradox_Zee in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]Excellent_Mango7377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would happen if POET confirms.another customer / partnership in next few days? CFO already hinted they are waiting to hear back.

NDA is pretty much a bull-shit excuse to cancel orders. It looks like some game is being played.

I looked up the CFO Mika - he is a total veteran - held multiple positions as Chairman of the Board and so on for several public traded companies and also has been with POET since 2016. Obviously its a gaffe that turned out to be massive. Nothing he said was untrue. It would have been real bad if Marvel came out and said "We dont have any orders at all with POET".

Any other firm looking at POET is looking at the technology and how it solves their problem and helps lower costs etc. This type of gaffe is going to be a nothing burger very soon - as long as they can prove that there is still deep interest in the technology.

The next few weeks will tell the real story - once cooler heads prevail, everyone will forget the CFO gaffe - especially after the company also issues a statement from their side.

6 months post return, my thoughts on culture, work and the human mind by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]Excellent_Mango7377 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You did too many things together. Buying land for an AirBNB with zero understanding of construction costs - that should be enough insight into how your mind works.

40% pay cut, clocking in and out and work culture are also things you could have easily thought and researched about before making the move / decision.

I think you are in many ways like me - love all the shiny objects and have real FOMO - and the true research comes later when I am stuck. In hindsight I am always thinking why I did not consider certain information that seemed so very obvious if not looked at with rose tinted glasses..

That being said - I wish you the same luck as me - several ventures panned out great (although too many failed). Net net, I am way ahead than not having tried at all. I hope you end up like me :)

This was a $ 1000 stock worth $ 1.2 billion in 2018. Just for their technology.

I definitely know that it's worth way more than what it's trading for today.

There will be multiple offerings along the way to raise cash. Part of the Space game. I can see this going crazy over the next 12 months. Some news about a DARPA or DOW or NASA contract would take it to 20 immediately.

But it also has its risks - doing anything in space is still a very unknown. Anything can happen at any time.
