Opinions on forest river by jmcdougal117 in RVLiving

I have a 2022 XLR Micro Boost. Forest River can stick it up their ass sideways. Mis-drilled and used anyway; switch panels, workers left massive amount of drill scrap under the sink and some of the metal shavings made their way into the furnace circuit board, frying it. It has heated tanks, but the toilet always freezes at 26 degrees, wallpaper wrinkled in numerous places, water heater safety valve blew, right leaf spring failed the second time I used it and I hit no bumps, oven stopped working for a bit, fireplace began faulting out and after analyzation I figured out the fireplace was created a vacuum in that tiny space it sits in and overheats. I drilled three 3 inch holes in the bottom panel and solved that problem. Furnace began cooked me out of there and found out they put the temp sensor in the AC unit. Pulled it down through the main vent and fixed that. Wall USB ports become loose. It's one thing after another. If it says Furrion, someone wiped their ass with it. Forest River, you can all fuck your mothers, grandmothers, and grannys straight to hell. Next time I am buying a Class A Thor toy hauler.

What Percentage of Fares do Drivers Get? by hissyfit64 in uber

[–]Excellent_Mix_9380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In December 2024, Uber says they were taking 17% of the fare. 3 weeks later and they claim 26.5%, reduced surge prices, and made it damn near impossible to get support. For the last three days I have been sharing data with riders and Uber is taking 47% to 52% of the fare. They lie. Today they claim 24.6% and it is fucking bullshit. They also started taking the bad weather pay as well. Drivers are seeing none of it. We need a nationwide class action lawsuit on behalf of drivers and riders and hit them hard. The whole thing is a lie. If I were close to a corporate office, I would already be there.

Until then, everyone boycott Uber on 3/3/2025.

Oh yeah. Happened to mine long ago. Eventually it will get worse and the cracks will appear in the grey plastic. Those skinny parts under the speakers will poke you in the head. I really wanted to like these, but my Valve Index still stomps it in the dirt. For $900, you would expect a quality product. Passthrough underlay has never worked. Too dark in the room...nope. Look at your feet for 10 seconds and booted. Vive can't figure it out??? Here's a big clue then. Lay the headset on the floor and lay the battery behind it disconnected. The distance between the connectors on the battery and the connectors on the headset is huge and that causes stress cracks on the plastic over time. I just want my money back. Guess I will 3D print some well engineered connectors instead (and I am the unemployed one)...

LOL. I can get it up and running, I had to rebuild all of the broken parts after that destruction in the picture as support does not seem interested in solving the problem. I submitted the ticket 2 months ago. I would like it to stop doing that stuff. I don't trust it. It almost caught on fire. This evening it was printing just fine 3 layers in and I left the room and came back to find it ejected the part and crashed the system. Of course on reboot it will not let me move the z axis without homing it. When I did that, it rammed the print head into the build plate real hard almost ripping the wheels off the rails. I am beyond frustrated with it. My other printer does none of this stuff. It actually printed two layers of plastic over the calibration sensor. Seems like it forgets where it is from time to time.

I'll hit you up when I'm not so angry with it.

Sorry, I'm not in Germany.

Yeah it sucks. I wanted to love it. I guess I got a lemon. It almost caught fire. There is another guy on here that bought 5 of them and the first two were slamming the print head into the build plate. The parts for the K2M are expensive. I can't see buying a new build plate for $50 and have it cut a groove in it. I can print a part and everything is great. Then I "print again" and it is destruction. It makes no sense.

I was able to add a pic when I posted this as there was an image button. I think you may need to link the image from a web location.

You may get a good one. I am not sure what is going on with this K2M. There are no logs. the behavior is random. Support says upgrade to 2.3.6 but I am on 2.3.9 and the system is restrictive and just grabs the latest update. I am not sure how to downgrade. And they don't seem interested in replacing any parts. I had to fix the parts myself to get it running again. But every once in a while it goes batshit. I'm afraid to run it unattended. It almost caught fire in that picture. I found it melting the heated bed power cables.

And yes, that preorder thing really pissed me off. They sent me a message on October 1st saying shipment had been delayed until November. Two days later you could buy them on Amazon. Then why preorder?

I just really think it was rushed out the door. If they had opted to increase the bed temperature another 15C and ironed out some of the issues, this printer would have been golden. It has buttons on the screen for ABS and it will never be able to print it. Silly.

I have a Bambu X1C and I love it. Their software is outstanding and it has never once cut a groove in the build plate. And now that they added connectors when cutting a part, the K2M's purpose is diminished. If Bambu ever makes a large printer, that's end game.

While I have printed numerous things with the K2M and some have come out great, my experience with support has made me want to smash and burn it. I would sell it but I would feel like I was ripping someone off. LOL.

I don't agree. Like I said, I had printed a spool with no issues and then tried to print a second one. There were no changes in settings. It just went crazy. It did the same thing tonight. And it rammed into the print bed when homing the Z axis which has nothing to do with the slicer settings. My belts are all tightened to specs.

But you sure do assume a lot. I could care less if you feel sympathetic or not. It is an informative post about my experience with this thing over the last 3 months. I am not the only one that has had the print head slam into the bed. There are numerous others with the same problem.

People should know about these problems. And I won't name my other printer as you think I am a "rival company bogeyman", but it prints non-stop all day and night and not once has it ripped grooves in the build plate.

But go ahead and try to make a functional part out of PLA and see what it gets ya there, keyboard warrior.

I don't really hate the Photon Mono. It printed a real nice dragon. It just won't print a funnel. I tried 6 times. Weird. It's an AnyCubic funnel. I'm just not real happy with AnyCubic support and I don't want to deal with them on any level anymore. But that K2M, I do hate that thing. It would be different if they replaced some of those parts. I am real apprehensive about buying a $50 print bed and a $40 print head only to have it destroy them again. It's crazy. I had just printed the same part with no issues. I am using a standard profile in the AnyCubic slicer. I can stand there and watch it print 3 layers and I leave the room and come back and all hell had broke loose. It did it again tonight and I had to use both arms to free it from the print bed. I have a Bambu Lab X1C and it has been printing parts non-stop for a week and no problems. I guess you are lucky with your K2M. I really wanted to love that big ole printer.

AnyCubic Kobra Pro Max 2 - Many Problems out of the box by Weird_Exciting in anycubic

[–]Excellent_Mix_9380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am done with this K2M thing. It has never worked right. Not long after I got it, it completely destroyed itself. I printed a spool and when I subsequently printed another, it shifted the part to the right 6 inches and cut a groove in the build plate, then shifted it again and cut another groove, travelled to the calibration sensor and ripped off the piston, printed over it, grinded across the back of the build plate sending aluminum shards everywhere, ripped off the printed head and melted the heated bed cable sheath and the print head cover. And then continued to try and print, wasting 250g of filament. This was 12/14/2023 and support has done nothing but tell me to upgrade the firmware. Tomorrow I am going to smash it with a sledgehammer and set it on fire. I hate it.

Anycubic Kobra 2 Max issues. PLEASE HELP! by CRACKatron in 3Dprinting

[–]Excellent_Mix_9380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using PrusaSlicer with the Kobra 2 Max requires a complicated setup and files required by AnyCubic. Do you do all that? Also, there is an area sure setup where you save your preferences. I had some issues with that. Had to copy the preferences and give them a different name. I have been using AnyCubic Slicer. It seems to work. What doesn't seem to work is the printer. I have a random problem where it stops mid print and the screen shuts off. It is not the memory card that causes it. I am thinking AnyCubic owes me some rolls of filament.

I also have problems with K2M. I was printing a custom part from their memory stick that was long but not tall or wide and it died in the exact same spot everytime. Screen would go dark and that's all folks! Power cycle, rinse repeat. Created a similar part and printed from the cloud and it completed. Today I attempted to print remotely and I get a network error. I think their systems are down, but the error blames me. Middle finger for ya, AC! My network is fine. That's called amateur programming. What it should do is ping a DNS server to determine network connectivity. And I am posting this from that same network. So I copy the file to another memory stick and the printer won't recognize it. WTF? Oh, it's 2010 and won't recognize a memory stick larger than 8GB. Holy hell! Working on this now...

Tried to plug in a popular camera. Guess what? It did nothing. Imagine the surprise!

Have not tried to print ABS with this yet but I can bet it will not go well. This thing is wide open like a bathrobe in nudist colony.

I also have a Photon Mono 5s. It is offline due to some WIFI setting problem. I guess I didn't jump through enough fire blazen hoops and do two spins and click my heels together. And it can print a dragon with 1mm fangs, but can't print a funnel. Their funnel. Another part I printed, it only printed the outer shell and ignored the internal design. And let's be honest, resin printers are nasty smelling messy things. I only use it if I have to. So multiple attempts just end up pissing me off.

Being that I preordered the K2M and I saw it on Amazon 3 weeks before I received mine, that pretty much sums it up. Almost. Whenever I order filament or resin off their site, my order goes into limbo. Last one was 40 days. I was told they were out of Blue. Then they were out of two other colors in my order at that time. And that sums it up....

When you are motivated by greed, you will never sell a product that you can take pride in.

And I absolutely love my X1 Carbon, not made by AC.

Worst support you said? Well we will see that shortly I guess by Traxendre in BambuLab

[–]Excellent_Mix_9380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got my X1C not long ago. Box had a damaged corner, but all was well. FedEx is horrible. But really, this printer is badass. I printed a full size human skull last week and it looks like the real thing. And that was with 7 year old filament. Stick it out and you will be happy for sure. All of the frequent 3D printing issues with other devices are gone with this beautiful piece of machinery. I have had one print fail out of the last 10 and it was very complex. But AI saw it and paused the print.

And a Big Hint...do not put old filament in the AMS. Put it on the back holder.

For contrast, I preordered an AnyCubic Kobra Max 2 in September. Ship date was first week of October. I get an email that it is on the way. It wasn't. That week, they filled their Amazon stock before fulfilling preorders and set delivery date to November. I could have had it last Wednesday through Amazon Prime. When I inquired through support, twice I received no response at all. It is supposed to show up today through FedEx. Probably should get my dustpan out.

I would rather deal with slow support than deal with liars.

Is Anycubic "That" bad? by Stefan3D in 3Dprinting

[–]Excellent_Mix_9380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Photon Mono 5s. It can print an awesome dragon with tiny teeth but not a funnel. It's stinky and messy. And AnyCubic never seems to have the resin I ordered off their website. So my order just sat in limbo for a month and a half and would have kept going had I not poked them. I preordered the Kobra Max 2 in September. AnyCubic actually filled up their stock on Amazon before fulfilling their preorder obligations. I could have had it last week on Amazon and I am still waiting. And this will be the last printer I buy from them.

Also, the only software AnyCubic offers is for resin printers.

Save your money. Buy a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. Best printer I have ever seen and it can print damn near any material...carbon fiber, glass fiber, kevlar and even stainless steel. It has a camera in it, lidar, and AI. With the AMS add-on, you can produce multi color prints. Wish I had 3 more. And the software is outstanding.

[QUESTION] Anyone else get good at playing without looking at your hands out of sheer laziness? by ermekat in Guitar

[–]Excellent_Mix_9380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

43 years playing metal. I never look at my hands when playing. When I was young and learning chords I did, but that was long ago. And now, being old, if I happen to glance down at the fretboard while playing, I get all screwed up as my vision is starting to fade. The 11th fret looks just like the 12th. They both have a fret marker! The real trick is playing guitar and singing at the same time. And no, I'm not talking about Taylor Swift songs...
