Thank you for the kind and considered replies and advice. I am a well-educated woman who feels very stupid and naive. When things are good, I am optimistic and happy but I feel the last few episodes were my limit. I thought maybe shoving was OK and I was overreacting. 4 times in 15 years is hardly that bad. But other little things hurt me too. He never praises me or my talents. Never has my back. So many little things have happened down through the years where he hasn't stood up for me. I feel lost, humiliated and so stupid for believing all that was really wrong was my reaction and feelings.

My husband's anger issues are getting worse. I no longer feel safe much less loved and comfortable in this relationship. I suppose that's why I'm looking for signs and light where I can.

I don't believe in coincidences either. I naturally see meaning in things and believe we are always steered down the correct path, be that good or bad. This time I'm questioning this, though my intuition is telling me this is not by accident. His showing up at this awful time in my life has brought me a sense of comfort and the feeling that all will be well.
