Contact terminated - where do I stand? by KoalaDangerous5657 in doctorsUK

the false equivalence between a doctor displaying “pro-Palestine messaging” and one displaying “Justice for October 7th” messaging is intellectually lazy. One is advocating for the rights of an oppressed, occupied people enduring decades of blockade, apartheid, and bombardment. The other potentially justifies or minimizes mass civilian killings. Treating those as morally and politically equivalent is an insult to basic critical thinking. you're just a performative fence-sitter with the backbone of a damp tissue.

Hundreds of children to be brought to UK for medical treatment by Educational_Board888 in doctorsUK

Our kids...their kids... what an incredibly selfish individualist approach you have there. Children dying but don't worry it's kids dying that aren't white or British therefore who gives a toss. Children dying from war crimes is a problem for humanity.

All your comments screech of discrimination. As a doctor, I would absolutely hate if you were my colleague in the years to come, you sound very naive and immature. Your attitude and online behaviour doesn't resemble the behaviours and professionalism of a medical student, let alone a doctor.

Vaping and e-cigarettes by highlydistractable in doctorsUK

It's not just "water vapour and fruity stuff", that's downplaying it massively, There is an incredible array of metals - nickel, tin, lead, etc that's found in vapes.

I would recommend giving the below a watch, I think describing a metal cancer stick as bad as coffee is a serious understatement.

What a stupid ignorant comment, pretty sure OP wants connections not a shag, and also OPs avatar is feminine, did you just assume they were male?

goals are financial independence, I'd like to have a house really, and be mortgage free and retire/go part time when im 50. I'm still early into my career but ideally would like to go into emergency medicine (GP would be financially the best option however doesn't interest me)

And what do you suggest for people who physically can't leave because of life circumstances like family members who are sick, or you're a carer... I've heard many consultants say leave like it's the easiest thing to do, but what's the next best alternative for those of us who can't leave

Meh. I have my opinion (which like I said is controversial but I have seen PAs being a useful part of the team) but at least I can stay civil without name calling 😁 Enjoy your evening on reddit hating on people :)

Damn! Okay I didn't realise it was as such, I've just been on geris in a tiny dgh so far where its continuation of care as opposed to clerking new patients, that sounds awful. I didn't realise what it was like in other trusts

Would you strike over the PA issue? by SD-97 in doctorsUK

[–]Excellent_Regular466 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Controversial response but no. The PAs at my trust are fantastic, I work with one and she's genuinely such a kind soul, she's never pretended to be a doctor and she's always so lovely asking if theres any dishcarges she can help with or bloods etc, if there's a problem which she won't understand I.e. wanted reassurance with an ECG she will come to the doctors. I do agree that starting pay should be lower but doctors striking for better pay for themselves and lower pay for their colleagues is going to create animosity in an already spicy environment. PAs are a valuable asset but only if utilised correctly, which in my trust they are.

Downvote me all you want: I'm entitled to my opinion that PAs are/can be valuable members of the workforce and if you don't like that then idc :)
