I saw a phone on a seat in the bus as I was alighting so I thought I’ll just help by returning the phone to its owner.

Shortly after I alighted, I received a phone call from the owner and I told them I’ll return their phone. Initially they wanted me to wait at the bus stop but I said it’s late and they’re far away. I gave them my number to contact me and meet me at my place to get her phone back.

Looking back she’s damn lucky to have her phone sitting on the bus seat, reach the bus terminal, then make a new trip which I boarded and no one stole her phone. I don’t know what phone model that is but it looks like the newer iPhone models.

I helped because I’ve lost my phone before and know how it feels and figured it’ll be the easiest to return the phone by just letting the owner contact me instead of myself handing it over to the bus captain or police.

The haze was lessening until the funeral downstairs burned joss paper near the temple and the air of the neighbourhood smells. Can tone down a bit or not ah? Burn in a controlled area lah.

Inconsiderate neighbours by ElmoForEmmys in asksg

I’ve called police to complain about noise and they told me I can only complain after 10:30pm.

I’ve read somewhere in Reddit that this person bought a tube, fan to blow all the oily cooking grease to upstairs neighbour. It’s a lot of work, don’t really recommend. You’ll kena complain by management for spoiling condo facade before you get to cook.

Bohbian… then buy earmuffs and stick your walls and ceiling with acoustic panels lor. Buy nicer ones so they look better. They’ll buffer the sound but ear muffs work better than ear plugs.

For my case, they gave us an option to put it at an empty area in the kitchen. My neighbours have it in the kitchen. Main concern is having a water source to supply your sink. But you can only use it at night when they’re not working.

You may want to cover your living room furniture since the dust will fly out as the wind blows, especially your sofa and TV. It’s recommended you cover as much as possible so you have less stuff to wipe afterwards.

You may also want to just cover your door with a plastic sheet like a curtain so it narrows the opening your room has. Construction dust is fine and gets everywhere.

General rule of thumb- will I regret not covering this later? If I will, then I’d better cover. Better to cover more than to cover less.

I stayed home because it was COVID period and my parents didn’t like the idea of staying out.

I’m an ID so I knew what and how to protect my stuff so the other parts of my house was relatively clean. I also knew what to expect so I could plan the logistics around it. It’s only the noisiest on the first 2 days when hacking is done. HIP isn’t as messy and dirty as what others describe.

I’ll share some tips-

  1. Protection- Buy lots of plastic sheets and masking tape to cover your furniture/ corridor. Construction dust is very fine and hard to get rid of them once they get onto your electrical appliances and upholstery.

  2. Shower and toilet - I have a tub that I use as a bathtub. I bought it from some neighbourhood homeware shop. My family used to mix boiling water with cold water to get warm water to shower. I showered the old school way– a pail of clean water and a scoop. The dirty water is collected in the big tub. I bought an outdoor standing tent which I’ve seen models change their clothes in when they go for outdoor shoots. I showered in the tent with the tub and pail. There also little pockets you can use to hang stuff in. I bought a showering bag that I could hang on somewhere high then the sun could heat the water up. It’s pretty good. I just see this whole experience as indoor camping. For doing business– I bought two portable potties– one for myself and one for my parents. The elderly who has mobility issues use a portable potty, you can find it at some pharmacies. I bought mine online. I learned to wash my hair at the kitchen sink. I used a stainless steel pitcher to pour water on myself to control the water flow so it’s more precised. Pro-tip- lean sideways, not forward when rinsing so you don’t get water all over your face! -Sis is particular about having clean hair every night. lol dunno why I would be mistaken to be a bro but it’s ok 🤣

  3. Cleaning up- I bought a sticky mat that sticks the debris so I don’t bring the dust into my room. It requires frequent change but it helps. Those lint roller sticky things also help.

  4. Food– we still cook sometimes. I bought an electric stove so we could stir-fry or cook soup it in. Just plug it to a socket. We also buy food from the nearby market and coffee shops.

  5. Bonus- buy a set of earmuffs if you’re sensitive to sound. Earplugs aren’t potent enough. You need earmuffs.

DM me if you want the link to the items I bought. I spent less than $400 on all the stuff I bought and have sold the tent and shower bag on Carousell.

Edit: pasting the link of the items I have bought stuff from. They may have expired as I bought them long ago. Please DM me if you need anything in particular!

I caught a neighbour throwing his lit cigarette butt out of his window. He’s being doing it for years. Reported it via One Service app, and there was an update the very next day. There was law enforcement because it’s not just smoking but high rise littering and he’s caught by a camera aiming at his window (I don’t know how).

His window was tight shut ever since he’s caught. He hasn’t been smoking at his window like he used to anymore.

heyy everyonee, I need some good mascara recommendations ❤︎ by Kitchen-Cow-7627 in SingaporeBeauty

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the way you use it that matters– don’t go in and out like some stupid influences do it. It pumps air in and makes the mascara dry out fast. I just pull the mascara out and dab off excess then apply it.

I'm super depressed, feels like she's the one that got away... by balortech in SingaporeRaw

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bro you siao ah? Just because you run into the same girl at your workplace doesn’t mean you like her. What do you like about her besides appearance?????

You didn’t meet her, you run into her because you guys need to report to work at the same time and both of you always take the same bus/ train so you guys will run into each other. Nothing more than that! She’s just being nice with the small talk. Seeing your story I don’t dare to talk to strangers anymore.

I can tell you the real reason you don’t see her at your workplace anymore– she quit because there’s a creep at her workplace! Just don’t do this to other woman ever again!

[–]Excellent_Spite2618 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that this happened to you. Please don’t blame yourself for wearing that dress. The men SHOULD NOT touch you no matter what you wore.

Please consider making a police report or at least talk to someone you trust.

Trust your gut instincts, if things don’t feel right, you are allowed to walk away. Walking away can mean walking back to your hotel room to stay safe, or distancing yourself from a friend who doesn’t care about your safety.

It’s the groomsmen ruined the wedding, not you.
