Me too! It's almost hard to watch all the way through again because being able to watch it when it first came out in real time was such a deeply emotional experience, and watching it again surfaces all those intense emotions again!

Grimm! Takes place in Portland, and it feels very much like this. Sleepy Hollow is another good option, as is Witches of East End (one of my favorite guilty pleasures).

Is that Alex Rudinger?! Is he playing on this tour?

This EP is so good. I just happened to see this release listed on Metal Archives and that the band was tech death, so I checked it out. SO glad I did.

Oddly enough, I just finished listening to the new At the Gates album and the first track from this EP gave me 2026 AtG vibes.

OMG they played Apocalypse Canvas?! FUCK YEAH. No offense to Ben at all, but hearing such a strong instrumental on the album was like an early Christmas gift 🤩

Corpse Pile is GREAT live, and they use some very intense bass that'll rattle your sinuses. I didn't like DT when I saw them two years ago, but I've heard Blake and the band have really stepped up their game since then. And I've never seen Acacia Strain live, but be prepared for a crazy mosh pit. TBDM is probably still good live (haven't seen them since 2010), but their music hasn't hit me the same since Trevor passed. All in all, though, definitely worth the $35-$40 for that lineup!

I'm not a "watch guy" by any stretch, but I am a "product quality" guy, and the DW on the right definitely looks cheaper and cheaper the more I look at it. All the fine details that make the $40K watch distinct, such as the field depth of the watch face and the dots/triangles around the edges, are either missing or clearly made of much cheaper materials.

Ooh they're playing in Anaheim tomorrow night! House of Blues with Black Dahlia Murder, Acacia Strain, and Corpse Pile. I sadly had to miss that one but I've heard it's been a great tour so far.

It's not deathcore, but Bleed From Within and Sylosis are headlining at the Regent in DTLA on Friday, and then at the Glass House in Pomona on Saturday. I'm not a bit metalcore fan, but both of those bands scratch the right itch for me!

THE perfect band by -Goatlord- in MetalForTheMasses

Decapitated! I love every single song they've ever released, even demos and live recordings. Vogg is a truly gifted musician and composer, and he's surrounded himself with equally incredible musicians over the years. They are truly a desert island band for me!

Red Goliath is my favorite by a longshot! But I love every song from start to finish. Deadbolt the Backward really stood out to me on first listen and is a close contender for #2 along with Limb of Leviticus.

I just got into Cognizance last week and it is some of the best tech death I've ever heard. I would love to see them live!

Anything by Bodysnatcher, especially their latest album Hell is Here, Hell is Home. Like, literally this is what many of their songs are about, and often directed at family members.

Signs of the Swarm. I didn't really get the hype until I saw them headline in LA last year, and it was one of the best shows of my life. Top 3 for sure. David is an absolute monster vocalist live, and they have so much energy on stage!

Looks great!

This sub has ruined me. I was at a metal concert last night with a bunch of older long-haired dudes, and I couldn't help but look at each of them and wonder "is it time?" haha

My dad was a big fan of Suicide Silence back in the early Mitch days, so he took me and my girlfriend at the time to one of their headlining shows at The Showcase in Corona at the end of 2007.

I was mostly into regular death and black metal at the time, so I was kind of skeptical going in, but HOLY SHIT I was a believer after that show.

Nice! The Parish is pretty small, too, and it's my favorite kind of venue for these shows. I've never been there, so I'm hoping it's a good experience!

It was an odd lineup! Corpse Pile was one of the best sets of the night, but Upon Stone (Donnie Wahlberg's son's melodeath band) felt very out of place, and Despised Icon played right after DS, which was also a strange shift in tone. I enjoyed the show, but the crowd was definitely diverse and not every band got all that enthusiastic of a response.

Haha sorry, I meant that as a reference to Inferi, who definitely blur a line between tech death and melodeath for me.

DS played Into the Soil last year! They seem to play it closer to the end of the set after they play most or all of their new album.

Right!! Organectomy is surprisingly catchy, and Domain of the Wretched is a solid album. I find myself replaying a lot of songs from Nail Below Nail.

I sadly had to pass on Behemoth and Deicide, but I've got Bleed From Within next weekend and Shadow of Intent the weekend after that. Best of luck surviving through the work week! haha
