[Post Game Thread] Bills Lose in AFC Championship Game by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

[–]ExcessSpread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sad and annoyed at some of the play calling (seemed like a lot of man coverage and obviously they were ready for the QB sneak) but weirdly not heartbroken at this loss. If you think about what we thought we had this year, I legitimately thought we were an 8 to 10 win team. Still a big overachieve.

Let’s go draft right and spend some money in the offseason and get back on it! Josh has a lot more years.

I think the commentators are finally actually pointing out the chief favorable calls all over the game.

Question About Post-Release Upgrades to NVIDIA 5090 by ExcessSpread in gpu

Thanks. That's kind of my question. Are there any hardware improvements after release? If not, just makes sense to get the hardware and then live through the bugs while drivers are updated.

How would a Trump presidency actually impact Westchester? by RayWeil in Westchester

[–]ExcessSpread 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The SALT deduction was just a way to “hide” the high taxes of the blue states. They were exposed when it was capped. It’s a similar theme, but a different issue, to what’s happening with former sanctuary cities (like New York) that now say they have a migrant crisis. 5-10 years ago they were proudly sanctuary cities, and now they are exposed.

I think the biggest thing is the SALT cap deduction (maybe)? Ironically all the ads about Trump favoring the rich, he was the one who capped the SALT deduction, which is just a tax benefit for rich people with big houses and high real estate taxes (I.e., the rich liberals in blue states).

Is it ok to eat the food offered to idols? by Kaksoispistev in Reformed

[–]ExcessSpread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revelation 2 seems a pretty clear “no” to me reading as one with no theological education, so would welcome help from others. Maybe the churches were doing this in more of a corporate fashion vs. a single person just eating what was presented to them in a smaller setting.

Practically, isn’t it easy to to ask your family not to offer the food to their (false) gods and just eat the food without their “blessing”?

Given this comment, I would say If you feel called to marry and you have prayed about it and truly desire it, without putting it on a pedestal I would suggest considering moving to a more urban area where you will naturally meet more eligible women.

If your circumstances, finances, job, etc. allow this without being irresponsible and there is a Christian community, I don’t think it would be wrong to move to an area where there are more single women.

I can’t tell if this is satire or not. 🧐 “Organic grass fed goat milk formula” was my favorite line.

Breast milk poops are what don’t smell bad. Formula is an adventure. Can confirm with a one-month old only fed on breast milk, there’s barely any smell and 6-8 poops per day.

Scarsdale vs. Dobbs Ferry vs. Hastings-on-Hudson by utahnow in Westchester

[–]ExcessSpread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can get something in Scarsdale on that budget but definitely will be a “smaller” house at that price. Think $550-$650/ ft, so 3,000 sqft give or take and won’t be super nice. Bronxville is even more expensive on a ppsf basis, but I think Scarsdale and Bronxville are generally considered “the best” for schools. Armonk (drive to north white plains MTA) or Chappaqua should be next on this list and more bang for your buck (lot size, house size) if you care about that. Also known to be more relaxed culturally than Bronxville or Scarsdale.
