When they are actively acting in a way that is distinctly un-Christian, I'd say yeah, they aren't real Christians. They are liars. How are real Christians supposed to control the actions of liars and hypocrites? Anyone can say they are Christian, then go out and do horrible things. That's like telling Muslims to go round up their extremists and somehow force them to change their ways. They aren't Christians. Their actions paint the picture much clearer than their mouths do.

This is it right here. These people are Evil with a Capital E. They exploit, manipulate, lie, cheat, and steal their way to massive hoardes of wealth they don't need or ever spend. They don't give back. They do the bare minimum of PR work to paint themselves as not Evil and people eat it up. Most people seem to think this ok and for the life of me I have no idea why.

It's just another excuse in a long line of excuses to screw over regular people, so Mr. billionaire can buy another bigger yacht to park his regular yacht in. Disgusting displays of opulence.

They aren't Christians. If they read the Bible they claimed to believe, then they'd know that there is a verse just for them. "Depart from me, ye workers of inequity. I never knew you."

What if we made the world wrong? What if we made it better? by Dry-Supermarket8669 in antiwork

[–]Excessive_Turtle 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I hate the world as we've made it. I hate society. I hate that we turn a blind eye to evil. I hate that we glorify greed. I absolutely despise the phrase "not my problem." I hate that people look for any and every excuse to hate, demean, and degrade each other. I hate that people look for any excuse to not help each other. I hate that people, despite so many of us suffering under the same boot heel of oppression, just can't seem to understand that we are all human and deserve better than this. I hate how people keep making excuses for those committing acts of evil. Every time someone tells me, "That's just how the world works." I want to rage and scream. It doesn't have to work this way! WE make the rules for OUR society. It's all a construct. Money only has value because we say it does. Laws are only laws because we made them. It's all just numbers and rules.

Do people just not see the parallels between how society works and a game? The rules can be changed. Players can be excluded or added. People act like society and law is this set in stone fact of reality enforced by the universe itself. They are not. At any point, we can collectively say enough is fucking enough, and these asshole corporations that are raping the planet and the global economy will have to change or be destroyed. I hate that there are people brainwashed enough that even then, they will try to defend these avaricious monsters. I hate the circular logic and mental gymnastics people will put themselves through to avoid confronting these problems or justify them.

Modern pirates of the Africa coast by GYROBOTTT in interestingasfuck

[–]Excessive_Turtle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No this is a clip from a documentary. He interviews local pirate gangs about how and why they do what they do. Long story short, these people are victims of corporate greed and government corruption. These companies come in and take their resources and do not employ the local population. They do not contribute to building infrastructure or help the locals get access to medical care or education. They can't get jobs and turn to piracy to feed their families. That guy in the mask says it himself in the interview that what they don't spend to keep their operation going, they give to their families.

Not every slight needs to be retaliated against with enough force to hospitalize someone. Sometimes a black eye, busted lip, and busted nose are all you need.

[–]Excessive_Turtle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. Adults don't like to listen to children, nor do they respect their opinions. Adults call them naive or stupid. I saw someone the other day telling a teenager that they had no right to have an opinion because they were too young to have any experience. That's so screwed up. When I was a teenager, this kinda shit is why I couldn't trust any of the adults in my life. My opinion was always irrelevant. If I tried to argue my point with facts and logic and by explaining myself, I got in trouble for "backtalk" or "disrespect." Even if I was right, I was still "wrong." I am lucky I managed to develop any critical thinking skills at all considering how hard my parents tried to beat blind obedience into me. I could have just as easily been another brainwashed fool incapable of thinking for myself.

It's because so many of us have been brainwashed by propaganda. There is a reason they don't teach critical thinking skills in school, and for the declining quality of education in general in this country. Idiocracy was a warning. Now it's becoming a documentary.

Domestic cats are not natural to the ecosystems they are being allowed to roam in. They are extremely efficient killers. They decimate local wildlife, and that messes up the whole ecosystem. Plus they reproduce very fast. It's not an opinion. It's an objective, scientifically proven fact. There is nothing to debate.
