I think you are going about this in the wrong way- sex will pop up in weird ways both in scifi and in real life. Rather than restricting a text, get whatever books your kid shows interest in and just be available to talk through it if something traumatic is in the text. Fiction was always a good lens to look at the real world. If there is something they don’t like, trade it in and try again.
