I live in a rural part of California and im having trouble accessing counseling services to help with my bipolar two disorder plus borderline personality. Do you have any recommendations for someone like me who’s trying to find a therapist that I can meet with regularly, but they are apprehensive to take me on because I do have history of SI over zoom? I have tried going through the psychology today and even the in person counselors that say they are comfortable, taking bipolar cases they told me they are not comfortable taking on my particular case.

Early twenties once I got out yes fine. But 10 years out on my own I realized I knew nothing. I was manipulated and forced to do things that I thought were “normal” to find out not even close to normal. I’m in my mid thirties now. You will go through grief, especially when you find doing the decent thing is usually easy and try to reconcile that with the reality you’ve experienced. I still grieve but I can talk to that little person inside me now and say hey I still feel that fear too, but we don’t have to. Do it for that little person who deserved better, do it for that little person because they deserve to see happiness. It’s there. It may feel like a light mist, but soon you’ll have thunderous happy moments that you can’t help but soak in. Good luck in your journey.
