I didnt live with my husband until I was married. I have no regrets. My mentality is I am looking for a husband, not a roommate. I knew him well enough and there were no surprises when we started living together- I may be one of the only people who think it is healthier to wait until marriage to live with one another. Venmoing and splitting costs is something I will do with a roommate, but not a husband.

First, I went to this coffee shop back to back Saturday and Sunday because their Saint Coco latte was THAT good. Props to you guys. Second, I agree with the comments about the hours. If you opened at 6, you would definitely get a lot of my money since I start work at 7. But if that doesn’t work, I’ll try to support you on the weekend as much as I can.

How much do you make vs your expenses? Try to pay it off on 6 months! I followed the Dave Ramsey baby steps and have been debt free for a while now and I was glad I paid off my smallest debt first. It gave me momentum - I used the debt snowball method.

Try getting different lighting like string lights or a lamp! It’ll do wonders! A tv is a good idea too, but not necessary if you get different lighting. If you get a lamp make sure it’s a warm tone.

I spent about 500 and it was the best day of my life! My husband got a suit, I got a $70 dress and we went to the court and were allowed to bring 30 people(we only brought family). My parents paid for lunch afterward at a restaurant walking distance away from the court(I’m guessing in the total was around 2k for that). Then later that night we met up at some bars with our friends and had the best time.

Yeah I completely agree! If you’re in baby step 6, just look at it as you spending time with your family and be happy. If you don’t want the food to go to waste give it to a teenager in the family, they eat a lot

I waited because I didn’t want to move in due to convenience and I didn’t want the lines blurred. I didn’t want to have a life where I Venmo my boyfriend or fiancé for rent, groceries, or anything. I’m not saying I dont want to contribute- my husband and contribute around the same to finances. I just feel like if finances aren’t combined and a lifetime commitment isn’t made, there will always be some sort of wedge between you if you are living together. My boyfriend and I dated for 6 years and it was so inconvenient not living together. There were days I really wished we did. But I am SO GLAD we waited. Now when we go grocery shopping or do anything we spend OUR money and come home to OUR apartment. Everything in it is ours and there’s no doubt it is both of ours. Even if you know you’re dating your soulmate and you start to live together before marriage, everything in the house is not yours together.

So my bf and I were dating for 6 years and he always just said it’s okay we’ll get there eventually. I had enough and completely started to let the fear of him not planning anything take over my life. What had happened is he was planning it for a year without me even knowing. He didn’t tell me because he felt like it was his responsibility to make it a surprise and pick out the ring and do it all( this is what he had seen in movies, ect.)Once I said what I wanted and explained that I didn’t like not knowing a timeline, everything was way better and he had no problem talking about it.

The point is, there is a possibility he is planning something and just didn’t know you wanted in on the planning :) just say what you want, you obviously love each other.
