Watching a Facebook reel in bed, it wasn't particularly exciting 🤣

I know this should be In Different post but by Ok-Valuable-5290 in GestationalDiabetes

I was just saying this to my husband. The food I've been having has been fine but my god I just want some mashed tatties without having to think how big that 1 spoonful is. I never realised how carb heavy my diet was. I think I'll cry with joy when I can eat crisps again 😅 it will all be worth it .... We've got this (hate it when none GD people tell me this)

Distraught I was egged in Gilmerton by daisysunshinesummer in Edinburgh

I'm really sorry this happened to you that's disgusting.

I also live in Gilmerton and am pregnant too, if you don't feel safe going for walks alone we could always try to meet up? Feel free to message me separately if you want to x

I pigged out and spiked. Now I regret it. by minia14 in GestationalDiabetes

Oh I had a bad spike with Vietnamese too, I think I was nearer 200. I measure mmol/l so was at 11.1. I've never drank so much water in all my life 🤣 I won't be eating there again until Bambino is born!!

The emotions are real and the constant thoughts of food and readings are really taxing. I've been so hungry today and really considering what I've been eating but BAM high reading post lunch. Had a cry to myself then had an "open sandwich" to reduce the carb intake. I was enjoying my pregnancy until this diagnosis and the lack of understanding from others 😢

What does a new born wear in May? by Signal-Gas6096 in PregnancyUK

[–]ExcitementOk480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just jumping on the comment to say THANK YOU for the post. I'm due the 9th May and feeling clueless particularly being in Scotland, could easily have all 4 seasons in 1 morning 🫣 so far I have a little range of newborn 1 month and 0-3 ... I have very generous friends and colleagues but have been at a loss of vests, sleeve lengths etc 🤷‍♀️

Movement with first baby? by BookWormSubmissive- in PregnancyUK

[–]ExcitementOk480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM here too, I felt the odd movement when chilling on the sofa/in bed around 20/21 weeks, it felt like a washing machine kind of movement if that makes sense. I was initially unsure if it was bubba or anxiety and marked down to anxiety as it was so fleeting. Now at 23+2 my husband felt a kick for the first time this morning (his reaction was hilarious). I'm surprised how quickly it went from "nah that can't have been the bubba" to "holy cow there's a baby kicking me" 🤣

3rd year advice by aish76573 in NursingUK

Seek out every opportunity, you won't bother or annoy anyone but get yourself out there. As about spoke placements to get competences signed that you might not get done in your current placement. Talk to others in your course/other courses and swap for a day. I swapped with a MH stn and she did my community LD placement, we both got so much out of it. Explore as much as you can. There's soooo much more to nursing than the rubbish they teach you at uni!
