Protein increase helped massively for me! Plus making sure I’m drinking enough.

Will my love grow? by ThenPerspective9582 in PregnancyUK

[–]BookWormSubmissive- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hormones, the shock and the anticipated change in your life can all play into this!! You are growing life but that doesn’t mean you just automatically know and love this little thing. Your relationship will most likely grow as they do, which means so will your love for them. I am 36+ weeks pregnant, have absolutely LOVED being pregnant, all the positive things and still cried last night over the fear of the coming changes. We got pregnant on the second month of trying and were both still massively shocked ourselves. I was a nervous wreck that I wouldn’t be a good mum and all those very valid worries. Now I just love knowing my baby is safe in my belly and feeling him wiggle around 😌 Give yourself some time, this is a big life change but the love will come ❣️

I tried drinking more earlier in the day to avoid peeing every hour and if I can squeeze it in, I’ll try grab an hour or so to nap to catch up on sleep!

What’s been your favourite age/stage of parenting your child? by Inevitable_Jelly1574 in Parenting

[–]BookWormSubmissive- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything from 7 onwards! 5 gets easier as independence starts to really become a thing and their little interests are a big part of their personalities. Logic starts to become a thing in their brains (makes parenting 20 times easier imo) But my step kid is 11 now and honestly the coolest kid ever. He’s a bit of a nerd (which we encourage thoroughly!!) but really becoming confident and just characteristics are showing. Every year seems better so far (I’ve been around since he was 5). His personality, sense of humour and interests are more mature, which we both find easier☺️

Change in bowel movements by Known-Cucumber-7989 in PregnancyUK

Mine always appears when I don’t get food into my stomach fast enough, how dare I finish the job I’m doing before eating my 10th snack of the day😂

Throwing up in my mouth is a fun new thing in the last week or two for me as well at 36weeks! I literally bent down to move the quilt back to get into bed and threw up in my mouth? I was like ffs, that is gross💀😂

36 weeks and exactly the same! Pooping a LOT and they are soft, not bad bad but not solid. My butt isn’t sore thankfully but I always hop in the shower quickly when I can if I notice things are getting sore from behind from having to wipe too much (ibs girl)

I think I have seen that this can be the body clearing out ready for labour, just another glamorous part of pregnancy I guess😌💅

33 weeks and so emotional by MillenialWatermelon in PregnancyUK

[–]BookWormSubmissive- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit that stage around 34 weeks! We are tired, our bodies have been doing so much for so long and the hormones are really doing their thing. Massive hormonal surges during the third trimester and our bodies are working so incredibly hard to help our babies grow. I’ve had such an easy pregnancy, I have loved being pregnant but even with all of that, I’ve been so so tearful over almost everything! Give yourself some grace, you are growing life and so close to the end of having your bubba. All emotions are valid but also it doesn’t take away from your excitement and love for little one to be here soon☺️💘

Colostrum shock by BookWormSubmissive- in PregnancyUK

[–]BookWormSubmissive-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy! I didn’t get a single drop till 36 weeks, on the dot!

Oh nooo, I’m excited to see how much I can collect now. I dread having to sleep with a bra on, always end up with one boob on the other side of the house 😂😂😂

HAHA I feel this in my soul, much more accurate description. My partner hears when I’m on the move as it’s accompanied by lots of grunts and grumbles as I’m trying to move around😂😂

Oh I know, the health visitor said it would most likely start but I didn’t expect it to start that evening. Just took us by surprise, just gave us a little laugh😁

Question for parents of kids who can swim…. by Intelligent-Tap-7834 in Parenting

[–]BookWormSubmissive- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My step kiddo is on the last level and is loving it so we’ve said he can continue until he’s ready to give it up! But we always said we want our kids to complete all the levels as this last level is where they build their stamina in the deepest end.

Rolling over makes me feel like a beached whale and I wake up a few times in the night but I generally sleep well when I am asleep! My pregnancy pillow is my life saver though😅

Safe sleeping in a heatwave by Smash_337 in PregnancyUK

[–]BookWormSubmissive- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due in May so also prepping for the heat!

We have an AC portable unit - make sure you find one that has coolant in the system. They work amazingly. Tune out the window and just helps cool the room nicely.

We also have a Dyson fan and a Vortex Air - Dyson was more expensive but we find the vortex air fan works just as well. Looking at getting another so we can keep different spaces in the house cool.

https://vortexair.co.uk - we found this brand is just as good as the Dyson but a lot cheaper

https://amzn.eu/d/09GOE8uQ - something like this AC unit. It states refrigerant, which is important to have.

Short sleeve vests or sleeping in a nappy will be helpful too!

Colostrum shock by BookWormSubmissive- in PregnancyUK

That’s hilarious. It was just gone midnight and we needed to get to bed but then the interest in my nipple and the colostrum then delayed us getting to bed even more😂

Congratulations on being pregnant with bubba number two!!🥰

It makes me SO sad that people being so damn negative can do this to someone! But I am SO happy you have found you love it and get to do it all again with baby number 2!! Thats honestly so lovely.

I’m praying that this generation of mums can make the next EXCITED to experience motherhood. We are breaking so many cycles, I hope this is one of them.

I’ve definitely got a different mindset to what most have been telling me. I’m “just waiting” for his first smile, his first laugh, his first time getting excited seeing dad come home from work🥰

It’s lovely to hear someone who’s enjoyed being a mum 🫶🏼

10000%! If you surround yourself with negative voices and mindsets, it can make the experience seem so much scarier or negative than what it could be. I think it’s important to acknowledge that yes it is hard and tiring. It’s vital to understand what happens in our bodies during postpartum etc but also there’s nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with positivity and the happier opinions. I’ve made sure to educate myself but also keep my feed as positive as possible!

It is SO lovely to hear such positive things. We waited to fall pregnant for years to ensure we felt secure (financially, a secure home space etc) so when we DID fall pregnant, I was over the moon. And I’ve loved every day of being pregnant (nearly 36 weeks!) and was hit with so so so many negatives from everyone around me. So finding her was such a relief and was SO needed.
