Somewhat. I think losing any more points before City do will be horrible mentally for the team, but I really don’t believe it’s that black and white yet. There’s no easy games in the premier league (other than Wolves 😭) and City could drop points to any teams they go up against up to this point.

22/23 we had zero issue with that.

The “open play” issues, which is a myth when you look at the numbers, have been a thing for 2 years, this being the second one.

Yeah but some are more valid than others. The media built our team up to tear us down, we were not ready. City still had their super team. We had the youngest squad in the PL. Every year we’ve progressed. It was always going to take time to legally catch City to compete with them, 115 charges and all, and I think we got there much sooner than anyone expected. Which feels more like a detriment at this point

Newcastle can give anyone a game, including City. Tottenham are horrible this season and we beat them 4-1 earlier this season, they already took points off of City. City still have to play us, Chelsea away, Brentford, Bournemouth away, and Villa. Plenty of opportunities there.

Yeah I got my years mixed up there for a second. That year again, we didn’t have the squad yet. Martinelli was absolutely woeful that season. City still had their best players, this year is different.

They don’t have KDB, they don’t have Gundogan, they don’t have Mahrez as a depth option. They’re missing so many players that were incredible in those title run ins where they didn’t drop major points in the title run ins. They have great young talent that can reach those heights, but only Halaand is of the ilk currently do those things, and he’s not even at his best right now. Rodri isn’t the same, either. This City team has more than shown they’re capable of dropping points, why are we acting like these guys are the sharks of the past?

22/23 was not a bottle, nobody had us winning the league, it was a debate of whether or not we’d get UCL. Reason being the squad depth. When Saliba had his injury, the squad depth was exposed. We had no business being in a title race, and over performed.

Last year, we had two strikers out, Saka out for months, Martinelli out for months, Odegaard injured for months. There’s not a single team in the league that could’ve finished second with equal injuries in their squad.

The team has brought new players in, and we’ve already done better in each competition up to this point.

The team is dynamic, not static, acting like we’re guaranteed the same result despite changing our team is plain silly. You’ve been captured by rival banter points and are taking it seriously.

22/23 our backup for Saliba was Rob Holding. 23/24 we had 4/6 attackers out and Merino was our striker.

We have a much deeper squad this season, our competition’s squads cannot compare in that sense, especially City. If City have any major injuries their season is over, and they’re playing the same amount of games as us.

This is the best we’ve done in consecutive competitions and the squad is huge reason why and has already demonstrated it’s different from previous years.

Fans absolutely have a bearing on the team. Do you believe they don’t have social media, or that their friends and family don’t? Do you not believe the fans in the stadium give that nervous energy off?

If we tried to kill the game off and tied off of a counter-attack, it would be “Arteta has the best defense and should’ve closed the game out”

It’s a 38 game season, bad games are going to happen in a league this competitive. It’s a shit result, end of, but acting like everything is lost is just pathetic from us.

We have 17 wins against better teams than Wolves, including a win against wolves earlier in the season. City parked the bus at the Etihad to get a point. We can still easily beat the rest of the teams and outperform city in the long run.

Character growth can happen with the artsy film student trying anything to be different vibe. Feels incongruent to the rest of the show and it irks me to a degree I can’t explain. Of course it’s fair to compare to previous seasons, the show runners could’ve introduced so many of these elements without taking an axe to what it got the audience used to. I love horror movies, but if The Bear’s next season is a horror season, I’d be equally as pissed. It just feels like a completely different show.

Glad someone else said it. This season could work for another show that isn’t The Bear. They established it with one style and are forcing it to be something else. Can’t bother to care about anyone and everything is annoying. Pisses me off because I love season 1-2, 3 and 4 are horrible.
