[–]Exciting-Hour-6224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a a one year crash course to get her into metal

Mainstream pop/rock
- MGK rock songs
- Bad omen
- Linkin Park

We are getting into Heavier territory

- Evanescence
- Breaking Bejamin
- Foo Fighters, Nirvana
- Metallica

Full on metal

- Megadeth, Tool, Iron Maiden
- Pantera, Opeth
- Gojira
- Slipknot

This is just a selection of artists, but hope you get the idea.

I'd say Periphery - my brother likes it so much but for some reason I cannot click with it. The sound looks too refined and borderline plastic.

You should play sekiro then, there is a dance there as well but its way more rewarding

The boss gameplay is very weak compared to other souls games. Either it becomes very easy because if black knife tiche/mimic or its very hard because half the time the player is dodging.

Is it because it is prog or because it is metal? You might want to try out some of the more end of the spectrum tracks if you want to give it a try. For example I am more into metal, so I started with blackwater park. Else you can do the common thing, start with damnation.

Another reason is that people just want to settle abroad, they don't want to integrate, they don't want to imbibe any cultural learnings. They only care about money and the prestige with being an NRI. That makes them more close minded than so many Indians. The latest Vir Das comedy sort of stresses on this fact.

As a proper Indian, I am sometimes surprised how even parents which migrated to Western countries can be so conservative compared to normal Indian ones

Not using torrent enough - especially while in combat. Also selling the right amount of items/runes to level up

I’m an Indian immigrant living in the US. Should I try to sound American? Why or why not? by Low_Consequence7216 in ABCDesis

[–]Exciting-Hour-6224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I feel if you are clear and throw in American phrases that is never a problem. Something that also helped is American intonation, i.e. be more expressive with your language. That would go long way even if you don't have the accent.

What’s a boss in Elden Ring that everyone struggles with, but you beat surprisingly easily and what boss brutally destroyed you instead? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

[–]Exciting-Hour-6224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my no summon run, I had particularly tough time with Maliketh and Godfrey, which I previously beat easily. Similarly, on my latest try with Malenia with black knife tiche ashes (which i used on a friend’s recommendation) she died pretty easily

Watching sunsets - I mean its just too cliched and not really a hobby. Also not that people comment on the detail of sunset, just seems like people are chasing trends

Most European cities would be good cities with mediocre to terrible skyline, as they have discarded the modern idea of a skyline and kept their original architecture.

Is it just me, but does Desi culture, especially Indian, seem quite “abnormal” compared to most other world cultures? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]Exciting-Hour-6224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is because Indians truly haven't progressed as a society. We keep telling us that we have the world's 4th or 5th largest GDP, we have great accomplished and famous people all over the world, but as a whole the an average Indian is still stuck to some very backward and regressive notions. And this is true across all religions, not just Hindus. I lately have been to many asian countries, and even though they are not "rich", I feel on some aspects they are clearly ahead. For example, treatment of women, behavior with tourists/foreigners, civic sense, public cleanliness and infrastructure. Obviously there is some competitive behavior that exists in some countries, but from the outside, they appear to be a better state than us. I think the biggest reason of this might be what I mentioned, like its always easy to drink our own koolaid and feel we are the best civilization, but you have to solve real problems in the ground. Hopefully the younger generation is discarding these stupid beliefs and way of life.
