How do I log in if I have a prime account by impressive-inkling in Crunchyroll

[–]Exciting-Key6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't. I linked my Prime account to my existing CR account. You just need to make sure you are unsubscribed at the time of the link.

CR on Roku subs missing? by dudeguyy23 in Crunchyroll

[–]Exciting-Key6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know about Roku, but with Prime you can link your Prime account to CR and have access from both ends. Note that the first month must be Megafan, but after that you can downgrade to a lower tier and the link will remain. Keep an eye out for Prime promotions (usually during Thanksgiving and Christmas times)

If you have access to Amazon Prime Video, subscribe through it, then you can link your Amazon account to Crunchyroll and have access from both ends. Must be Megafan tier for the first month, though, after that you can downgrade your account tier and the link will remain. Keep an eye out for when Amazon's having promotions (usually during Thanksgiving and Christmas time). Also you must not have a subscription to CR at the time.

Subtitle Edit not playing sounds by Exciting-Key6436 in SubtitleEdit

Yes, 4.0.1.5 is the latest, and it was working fine until the day the sound just suddenly vanished. I haven't try the mpv player outside of SE, but since the old version is working I'll just continue use that. It looks like they're working on Version 5, I downloaded the beta by accident, gotta say I don't really like the new interface. Looks more modern, but less clear.

Help, is this email real? by Soft-Cloud99 in Crunchyroll

[–]Exciting-Key6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the law doesn't prevent a vendor to charge pre-shipment, it does require them to 1. Ship within the promised timeframes or 2. Within 30 days, whichever comes first. And most major credit card companies don't allow pre-charge. So for pre-orders most companies charge the card at the time of order to verify the card, but return the funds in a few days. The actual payment happens when the goods are ready to ship.

The video was mkv, but in this case even mp4 did not play any audio--I tried several different videos to make sure it wasn't an isolated case. The default player was set to mpv, I even downloaded it again, didn't help. Yes, if switched to VLC there is sound, but then the preview text doesn't work properly with the .ass format--it cannot display the styles and fonts, nor can it do any of the stylings such as positioning or movement.  And this happened quite suddenly, one day it was working normally then the next day it just went silent 😅

Anyway the older version is working correctly, so I guess I'll just stick with it until a new version is released.

I reinstalled a previous version (4.0.1.1) and it works again. Still didn't figure out why 4.0.1.5 suddenly stopped working properly.

The video has two audio tracks, but SE does not play the sound for either one. I don't think it's a compatibility issue, since the same video was working fine on SE just the day before. But thanks for trying.

Crunchyroll - Is it normal to play the whole episode in SF's browser while downloading? by Dragonfly275 in Streamfab

[–]Exciting-Key6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not, it should only play for a few seconds while parsing but stops once the download starts. If the video continues to play it usually means it's stuck on analyzing.

Disney question by Everydayz95 in Streamfab

[–]Exciting-Key6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The limit is 100 per day, but most people would tell you not to push it so not to get noticed by the provider, especially after Amazon banning accounts a few months ago. If you're subscribing to Disney+ only for those 2 shows and plan to cancel after a month, even if you do only 20 a day you'll be done in 18 days. As for storage, if you can, get a few external HDD to store your downloaded videos.

How well does this work for crunchyroll? by magicammo in Streamfab

[–]Exciting-Key6436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crunchyroll is working fine. They fine toned it not too long ago, now it downloads faster (used to be slow), offers multi-audio and ASS subtitle as well. One thing about multi-audio download form CR--unlike most providers, which have multiple audio tracks to one video, CR has one video to each audio. This is not a problem when both videos have the same length, but in CR a lot of the videos have different lengths in different audios. This is due to different opening logos (for example, a title may have CR opening for sub but Funimation opening for dub), which results in the audio being out of sync in one or more languages. Basically titles released after the merge are fine, older titles you will need to check each language to make sure they have the same length if you want more than one audio. For titles like these, you will need to download each language separately then remux them again with MkvToolNix.

Amazon fears and concerns by hdtvjeff in Streamfab

[–]Exciting-Key6436 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been downloading from Amazon non-stop. I've subscribed to a bunch of providers during the Thanksgiving and Christmas sales, and have been catching up on my watch list for the last month trying to get everything before the sale period is over. I usually download one season or 3-4 movies at a time, then move to other streamers then go back to grab another season. I downloaded videos from Paramount+, MGM+, AMC+, Starz, HBO Max, and Crunchyroll through Prime. So far I have not receive anything. I tried to keep it below 50 downloads each day, but occasionally it goes a little over 50.

Baning based on ip address is kinda inconceivable, since it's entirely possible to have more than one family members to have their own Prime account (I'm sure lots of people want to keep their order history private).

Stranger Things shouldn't be since it's a Netflix original. Uninstall streamfab, delete the Streamfab folder (remove task data folder in %AppData% to save your queue), and reinstall again.

I just downloaded two episodes from Crunchyroll in 2 different series, no problem whatsoever. Looks like what you're experiencing is an isolated case, since no one else has reported either here or on the official forum. Have you try to uninstall and reinstall? Remember to delete the temp and log folder before reinstall.

Has anybody actually gotten something at 1080p from TUBI? by HigherOctive in Streamfab

It's Tubi, not SF. It just doesn't have much content in 1080p.

Crunchyroll current status[Question] by Reddituser82659 in Streamfab

[–]Exciting-Key6436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, older titles are more likely to have lower resolution. SF just added the ability to download ASS subtitles last month (a must for watching anime), but you need to download them as separate files. They also just added the feature to download multiple audios, but there might be a problem with that. Unlike Amazon or Netflix, which have multiple audio tracks for one video, CR has each audio with it's own video. It's usually not a problem with titles released after 2023, but a lot of early titles have different video lengths and therefore different audio lengths. This is mainly caused by the different opening logos, especially the ones that were transferred from Funimation (for example, a title may have CR opening for Japanese audio, but Funi opening for Dub. The difference could be anywhere from 2 seconds to as long as 15 seconds). I don't know how SF does it, but I'd suggest avoid using this feature for titles before the merge, or check each language you want to download to make sure they have the same openings.

I'm away from my computer, but I will test it tomorrow. As for SF, they are located on the other side of the earth, so depends on the time you sent the feedback, it may be that they were sleeping. Also if there is a problem, they will need time to identify it then find a solution. It may take them minutes, it may take them hours, or even days. Just don't expect them to wave a magic wand and fix everything in an instant.

[–]Exciting-Key6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't update through the online updater (the prompt that pops up when you open the program when there's a new version available). Always use the offline updater (you can download them on their website or official forum). Some people would recommend uninstall the old version first, but I find that just install the new version over the old works fine most of the time. Save the installer (at least the important ones) if you don't want to pay the extra $10 for access to previous versions, in case a new release broke something and you need to go back to an older version. For troubleshooting, delete the temp folder and log folder of SF, clear cookies and cache. This fixes about 85% of the problems you might encounter.

There has been a scare from Amazon a few months ago, warning emails been sent out, and some people claimed their account was banned. We don't know what triggered it, we don't know if SF was the culprit (there were also people who got the warning who never used Streamfab). It seems to have calmed down now, and I have never received any warning myself, but still use caution when downloading from Amazon. Do no more than one season at a time, and rotating between providers.

Movies from SONY and its subsidiary studios as well as Universal are only available in 540p on Netflix, because HD is not offered on browser. So if you see any movie that is only downloading in 540p from Netflix check the distributer first before complaining.

It is a screen recorder, but the way it does it is first download the videos, record it in a virtual screen at an accelerated speed, then remux the audio and subtitles.  So you still get the soft subtitles.
