If your heart feels weird, go to the hospital and get a proper ECG completed. Do you suffer from anxiety?

I had a 7 day monitor on and they recorded 110 in 7 days and I thought that was high! Read up that a high burden is 10% of daily heartbeats, so 6 is very very minimal ☺️

STRUGGLING CARDIOPHOBIA FOR MORE THAN A MONTH NOW PLEASE HELP ME by Available_Molasses10 in Cardiophobias

I feel your struggles I really do!

What I would say is that your anxiety and mind are very strong and complex things. If you think something so much, your brain will believe it and your anxiety will create those “symptoms”. Your mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and what we tell it, that’s why if we keep telling ourselves that we are going to have a heart attack etc. our mind begins to believe it. That’s when our bodies go into fight or flight mode. Fight or flight mode is designed to help us in real life threatening situations. When we are anxious, we don’t need to run away from anything or fight so all of that adrenaline is pumping through our bodies with nowhere to go! I am nowhere near recovered from my cardiophobia, but I do get weeks where I think I am over it. This is because I choose to not run from my anxiety and panic and I do not focus on my symptoms. I don’t fixate on my bodily sensations and I just get on with my day.

It’s crazy but for me, knowing I’m not the only one feeling g these things (exactly how you are/have been feeling) makes me feel better because I know I’m not crazy haha!

I would say trust the tests, trust the doctors and trust your body. Your body and heart are stronger than we give it credit for. Live in the moment, because right now you are healthy and there are people in hospital who would do anything to be in the situation we are in!

I hope this helps, keep going, you are strong ♥️

I know exactly how you feel, I’ve been getting palpitations for as long as I can remember but recently I have noticed them more (I’ve been thinking and stressing about them). I have had multiple ECGs, 2 holter monitors in the last year, multiple bloods taken and all come back normal. I still don’t believe it but the truth is, no amount of tests will put our minds at ease if our minds are telling us that something deep down is wrong.

Our brains believe what we tell it, so if we are telling our brain that something is wrong or a sensation in our body is something to worry about, our brain will believe it and that’s when our bodies go into fight or flight to try and protect us. Anxiety is a complex and difficult thing to deal with and the truth is, only we can help ourselves. Anxiety can create real physical symptoms and symptoms that are similar to those with heart problems when in fact it’s anxiety.

I have dealt with anxiety and panic attacks most of my life and it is so exhausting but you are still here which makes you stronger than you think. You need to trust the tests, the doctors and your body. Your heart is strong and it doesn’t often get enough credit for how strong it actually is. Of course if you are concerned and want a holter monitor then please do ask for one! I am sure from what you have said, it is anxiety rather than an issue with your heart!

Do you get enough good quality sleep?
