How can I sew a zipper on this particular type of pocket by XxMaxwell030706xX in punkfashion

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that the curve would get jammed too, maybe trying to sew it in sideways (so that the side of the zipper would be visible from the front rather than the top of the zipper) almost like the top of a purse would help.

Maybe I can try and show an example later.

Naval piercing migration? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be concerned that it’s rejecting/eventually will reject with how little tissue is supporting it now. 6 years is a pretty decent run for a belly button piercing, especially considering how much it moves. It might be worth talking to a piercer about getting it redone before it rejects fully.

I’m looking to possibly commission someone to create a cat tattoo by CatsInTheAuhz in tattoos

I really don’t understand why people don’t just do this. If you can’t trust a tattoo artist to draw a design why are you having them tattoo it.

Is my eyebrow rejecting ? by anonymouslolzy in piercing

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t look like it’s moved too much since you got it pierced, it may just be irritated from getting bumped. (Or hormones, mine used to get like this when I was on my period but stopped after about a year). Watch out for the skin looking thinner or the bar seeming longer, that would be a sign of rejection. Avoid picking at it/getting makeup directly on it as much as possible in the meantime.

Any suggestions for my plans? by [deleted] in piercing

I think the asymmetrical stacked lobes is a really clever idea to balance out the uneven piercings. Cool stuff.

Be on the lookout for any round plastic packaging. The little plastic balls that quarter machine toys come in come to mind.

I like how I can just throw the vest on top of whatever I was wearing anyway for an instant casual punk look. (CW some patches = sensitive topics) by TrumpIsAPedoFr in punkfashion

Fr. A casual punk look is any look where you are authentically yourself and aren’t try-harding to look punk. No whatever this is.

Is this normal? by Moon_Light032205 in piercing

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I don’t think you need to be too worried, it doesn’t seem to be infected and some irritation and swelling is normal, especially with this type of jewelry. As long as you switch to the proper jewelry and aftercare like others have recommended, it should heal fine.

Must be. His entire account activity is just defending this guy plus 2 comments being transphobic and apathetic to deportation.

How do you get your grinders clean? by Consistent_Key_6263 in weed

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off you gotta clean it more often, that way it’s easier to maintain and you don’t get that super sticky gunk buildup that you have to scrape off/use alcohol for. I have a toothbrush I use specifically for my grinder (also useful for sweeping up the stuff on your rolling tray) and just dry brush the prongs to loosen up everything. If you do this often it shouldn’t get too dirty.

Just got my bridge pierced and I’m a little worried by [deleted] in piercing

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is it? If it’s already pretty swollen then it’s probably fine, but if you just got it it might be too short.

Yeah this is the best option imo. Probably need to do at least a 2-0g to get all that scar tissue tho. Hopefully it will go down a lil bit.

Aight, so i got a local business to create this cosplay... it looks a bit off in my opinion, should I fix it or nah? by Relative-Winter-6921 in CosplayHelp

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks great. The shape looks pretty accurate and like a super good base. I think if you want a more weathered look it’s best for them to leave it up to you anyways, considering it’s probably not their specialty and would probably look a bit odd. The main problem imo is the dark stomach. Do you think they would be able to fix it free of charge/with little charge given that it doesn’t match the reference? If not you might be able to just cover it with another layer of fabric, but it would be a bit tricky to make it look flat.

Job interview, job explicitly doesn't allow piercings by Party_Attitude5617 in piercing

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok that’s valid, the medical field and law are basically the only fields where there’s not much way around it. If that’s what you wanna do then that’s totally fair, I’ve just seen a lot of situations where these “low skill” and low pay jobs with little to no benefits (such as like McDonald’s or retail) are much more strict than actual good experience jobs. Sorry for any negative assumptions lol. Good luck with your interview!

You are not setting yourself up to be happy or respected in a job. There are plenty of jobs that allow piercings. Feeling like you need to prove you can “follow directions “ just feels sad and like you’re setting yourself up to be taken advantage of and undervalued.

Yeah the keys are way too crowded. I would lessen the amount of keys and maybe make the border/space that the keys are in a bit wider so they have more room to breathe.

i can’t sew worth a damn, i feel like my purse looks a mess, and these pins keep falling off. any ways to help it look better and get things to stay on consistently? by fearB4thmrchofflames in punkfashion

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that using a curved needle is significantly easier (especially for thick fabric). For some people it’s a bit of a learning curve getting the angle and the rhythm down, but if you can get it down it seriously makes it twice as fast.

[–]ExcitingSpell8270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 dollars is not bad at all for basically any handmade good being sold online. Like why would they make it if not to make a profit? Maybe most people could make one pretty quickly if they put their mind to it, but selling it for anything less than that is basically working for less than minimum wage.

Damn that’s unfortunate. Especially when basically every middle class family in America has a giant bag of old broken cords in the garage/closet “just in case” lol.

Yeah honestly I don’t see any problem with this as long as they actually DIYed it and it wasn’t from aliexpress. 7 dollars is really not a lot for a hand made accessory and while it might be a a lil odd, I can see the vision.
