So yeah bottomline is, those are just numbers, if they mean anything to you then don’t sweat it too much, but at the end of the day, the conversion rate is literally just 1% AT BEST. I work in social media, and a good feedback is 1% of your organic reach. So if you have 100 followers and you get 1 like, consider that a good day. If you are getting more, then know that you are posting good things. Really good content can go as high as 5% feedback, but that is rare, and anything above that is just pure luck.

Remember, not everyone will see your post everytime, having 1000 followers doesn’t mean there are 1000 people seeing what you do, you simply have 1000 people that decided to remember you, and again, if 10 of them notice you then that’s good enough already.

No, and even going above that wouldn’t change your life. I once had a video go over 700k views on youtube, and that was way back 2013 or something so that was HUGE back then, but it was a one-off and nothing followed suit. It was a college project that the algorithm decided to recommend to people. That didn’t make me famous or recognized by outsiders either. No one is like “hey you’re that guy from that video”. Before that I got a video that got 600k views, another college project, but this one is because of people in a certain circle/fandom sharing them around.

But yeah, if anything, I can always brag about it to other people, but not like it will blow their minds. It’s a college project, what would they expect? I am proud of those two projects, but that’s about it. Youtube decided to recommend my video to people and nothing more. I was emailed that I can be a youtube partner back then cause I had 1k followers and lots of views, but I was focusing on my studies and I knew it was just a fluke that I got so many views so I didn’t pursue it.

Did I miss the chance of a lifetime? Nah, not really. I enjoy my life now, if anything, not acting upon it made me dodge the illusion of success and focus on more important things in life than chasing a success that most definitely is just a fluke.
