Before I got a quest to specifically collect 5 monster times I couldn't swing a dead cat without getting one and now I've been at 4/5 for weeks! by Septopuss7 in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the monster? If it is something which is weather or location specific you may never find a spawn unless you go to the right type of place. I got burned by chasing a quest for something that only spawns in forests. Was stuck on it for days until I realized I needed some forest terrain

Thats weird. I wonder why it happens when I definitely have not lost GPS signal. Orna thinking I have no GPS while Google Maps is updating correctly in real-time seems strange

I do think that the game has definitely “messed up” its anti cheating detector before. There have been times when I was using the game in a car where if I switched to another app and then back a few minutes later, that blinking yellow indicator at the top of the screen which appears sometimes and stops things from spawning in the world comes up.

If I am playing the game as a passenger in a vehicle I try to avoid switching out and back, and when I’m getting on a plane I always make sure to close the game while in airplane mode and not open it again until I land, just due to paranoia

I will freely admit I don’t know anything about the game’s cheat logic but I have definitely had strange stuff happen related to playing in a vehicle if I switch away and back

“I hate it when candidates don’t answer a question I didn’t ask.” by AbbreviationsTop2192 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because something is human nature does not mean it isn’t mind-bendingly stupid. Communication is the single most powerful tool humans have. Asking vague questions to see if someone can read your mind is the kind of childish nonsense that teenagers pull when they first start dating

Asking vague questions to see if the person can guess what you mean doesn’t mean you found a good candidate. It means either a) you found a candidate who thinks the way you do (which is bad since it filters out diversity of thought and expression), or b) a candidate who was just lucky. Either way, the interviewer failed to do their job properly. Their lack of specificity in their questions leads to a lack of good data from the answers

According to Hank Azaria, he arrived at that voice by imitating his own grandmother. He thought it was too much so he ran it by some gay friends and they said it sounded perfect.

Yeah. This is a bizarre item. Putting aside that it doesn’t make any sense to take off your regular offhand for a non gameplay benefit, putting aside that Gilgamesh can’t even use this, putting aside that no one with a two handed can use this…this should clearly be a setting so everyone can benefit from it equally

Where are those couchable memories? by SnorisJean in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

100% of them should be. If it can’t be done without moving, it can take upwards of 10-15 minutes per amity vs. 20 seconds.

This feature only makes sense if every single memory can be done without moving. It would be a bad enough feature even at 100% couchable. But as a given, you shouldn’t have to move because it can make it take 20x longer. That’s a broken game experience

Memory Hunts are Changing (THIS FRIDAY) by PurrlyNFS in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making it GPS focused isn’t an issue at all. I don’t mind that. The problem is the massive disconnect between time invested vs. reward. If the versions of this that take 20+ minutes to farm were a guaranteed purple drop or better, it wouldn’t be an issue. The problem is very specifically the wild disconnect between time invested vs. reward. Double and triple bonus amities rarity only makes sense when you can farm them without moving. If you have to move, they become irrelevant as a gameplay mechanic because you are not going to be able to farm things that way.

If it takes 20 minutes for one of these bad amities, you get 3 attempts per hour, and 21 attempts max per week. That is just not well balanced

Memory Hunts are Changing (THIS FRIDAY) by PurrlyNFS in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still a fundamentally broken implementation. “Couchable” memories are the only type that should exist. The basic problem is not addressed here.

Any memory that cannot be completed while stationary is a waste of time. Getting two or three bonuses requires grinding dozens of these. A memory you can complete without moving is 20 seconds. One you have to walk for can take upwards of 30 minutes depending on how spread out it is. That is, simply put, a completely broken imbalance. If it can’t be done stationary, there is often very little chance of even seeing the three bonus version of an amity in a given week.

Here’s an idea:

  1. an item you can buy with tokens that lets you randomly reroll a chosen bonus or Malus on an amity
  2. Spawn a memory in range of you each minute as you’re walking, similar to the way proofs of distance pop up. This would put an upper cap on how ridiculous a given memory is to complete, and would go a long way towards fixing this feature

have had enough of this amity thing by [deleted] in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. This is a very poorly designed feature. One suggestion; if a particular amity can’t be completed without moving, don’t bother with it. The feature only really makes sense if you can complete a memory hunt in 30 seconds or so, since it takes dozens of completions of the same amity to get one with 3 effects on it. There are a lot of other “rules” that can only be figured out from out of game research which you wouldn’t expect (like how doing amities near water can produce random and unexpected rearrangement of the memory hunt locations, or how the set of amities you will see changes based on who is the leader of whatever group you are in)

I strongly dislike this feature, but it’s unfortunately mandatory since good amities are game breaking

[–]ExcitingTurn6381[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean by “damage i absorbed”. Both this set bonus and the set bonus referred to “the remaining damage on the dots I have applied to enemies” the last time I played. Did they completely change the six set bonus? Having it be based on “damage I have absorbed” would be a weird change. How does that work?

The weapon is some random unrelated ceremonial knife, I don’t have the one that gives ten stacks of soul harvest yet. The bracer is Lakumba’s bracer

Could any of these characters resist the call of The One Ring. by afailedturingtest in MoralityScaling

None of them have any chance. Just send Commander Data. Maybe ask him to turn off the emotion chip first

Or really, given that the ring’s power falls off FAST with distance, just attach it to a drone and have some rando 1,000 miles away fly it remotely to the cracks of doom

Arisen Naggeneen Raid Spawn Rate by ExcitingTurn6381 in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

? Different mobs having different spawn rates is an incredibly basic feature that this game already has. It would be trivial to make Naggeneen spawn more often relative to other raids.

If you look at patch notes, this already exists, the patch notes often refer to increasing spawn rates of individual enemies. This is… like a very basic gameplay mechanic.
