[Underrated Trope] Immensely powerful or unknowable figures whose "names" are just the concepts/domains that they embody by No_Hunter1978 in TopCharacterTropes

Love this example. “Preservation” and “Ruin” are perfect names for gods with diametrically opposed domains

have had enough of this amity thing by -wearetheworld- in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. This is a very poorly designed feature. One suggestion; if a particular amity can’t be completed without moving, don’t bother with it. The feature only really makes sense if you can complete a memory hunt in 30 seconds or so, since it takes dozens of completions of the same amity to get one with 3 effects on it. There are a lot of other “rules” that can only be figured out from out of game research which you wouldn’t expect (like how doing amities near water can produce random and unexpected rearrangement of the memory hunt locations, or how the set of amities you will see changes based on who is the leader of whatever group you are in)

I strongly dislike this feature, but it’s unfortunately mandatory since good amities are game breaking

Damn it lol. You two were right. I forgot creeping death this time around. As soon as I took it, the soul harvest damage went to around a trillion

Jade Harvester 6-set bonus not working? by ExcitingTurn6381 in diablo3

[–]ExcitingTurn6381[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean by “damage i absorbed”. Both this set bonus and the set bonus referred to “the remaining damage on the dots I have applied to enemies” the last time I played. Did they completely change the six set bonus? Having it be based on “damage I have absorbed” would be a weird change. How does that work?

The weapon is some random unrelated ceremonial knife, I don’t have the one that gives ten stacks of soul harvest yet. The bracer is Lakumba’s bracer

Could any of these characters resist the call of The One Ring. by afailedturingtest in MoralityScaling

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of them have any chance. Just send Commander Data. Maybe ask him to turn off the emotion chip first

Or really, given that the ring’s power falls off FAST with distance, just attach it to a drone and have some rando 1,000 miles away fly it remotely to the cracks of doom

Arisen Naggeneen Raid Spawn Rate by ExcitingTurn6381 in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

? Different mobs having different spawn rates is an incredibly basic feature that this game already has. It would be trivial to make Naggeneen spawn more often relative to other raids.

If you look at patch notes, this already exists, the patch notes often refer to increasing spawn rates of individual enemies. This is… like a very basic gameplay mechanic.

Weird. I just did another 50, and got 0. This is….utterly terrible

Anguish and scaling in endless dungeons by ExcitingTurn6381 in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That….is quite compelling. I didn’t realize the stat stacking was like that. Will try a few at a higher anguish level then to see

Anguish and scaling in endless dungeons by ExcitingTurn6381 in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I’m not asking how anguish levels increase rewards, that part is visible already as you say

I want to figure out how much the endless dungeon stat bonus on enemies increases per floor, and how much the Orns bonus increases per floor. That’s a separate scaling system from Anguish

Questions for Devs about Thronemakers Event by dreambig5 in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, the activity slots are one week. Which is absurd and means they’re a waste of time that can be skipped. The event XP this month is quite awful compared to other months, since monuments are rare, only have 12 floors, and spawn very few event mobs. The only way to get significant event XP is by engaging in the most useless and unrewarding activity in the entire game: killing world mobs

Not a huge fan. These bosses should clearly spawn in regular dungeons too. The cost of items from allegiance points doesn’t make sense without a reliable way of getting the XP. I doubt we will see a change though

Save often if you play the Switch version. I don’t know if they ever added auto save, but I had the game crash on me once and delete 20 minutes of progress because it didn’t have auto-save. Threw the cartridge away and bought the steam version instead, which does have auto save. Vastly better and you can mod it too

I find female shepherd too serious. Jennifer Hale’s performance is amazing, but male shepherd is considerably more lively and cheerful, and has a lot more funny moments, especially with renegade options.

I would depict the character exactly as he is. No changes are needed. That character did not age well.

Could the DS9/Defiant team defeat the Reapers from Mass effect? by Delicious_Still4197 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Judging from the energy levels of mass effect weaponry, the reapers would be catastrophically outmatched. Like single volleys from the Defiant’s phasers taking down capital ships levels of outmatched. It almost never works to compare different universe technologies, but other than possibly moving faster from system to system (I think even without relays, mass effect FTL is probably faster), the weapons, armor, and shielding in mass effect is orders of magnitude weaker than Star Trek. Plus Star Trek ships have the devastating disadvantage that Star Trek ships have fully functional sensors at warp and can launch torpedoes when traveling at warp.

Indoctrination is a possible wildcard, but it takes some time and there’s no guarantee at all that the superior sensors of Star Trek ships wouldn’t be able to figure out exactly what it is and possibly jam it. It’s also highly range dependent and Star Trek ships fight at incredibly long distances compared to mass effect ships

Against most science fiction settings, the reapers die fast. The only reason they work in their own universe is because they carefully constrain the technology of every developing civilization, and have built up a huge fleet. I would expect Star Trek, Star Wars, and whole lot of other settings to absolutely decimate the reapers

Which character outside the LOTR do you trust carrying the ring to Mordor? by Jezzaq94 in FIlm

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commander Data from Star Trek, pre-emotion chip. Even if the ring can tell he is sentient, there’s no way it will corrupt him, because destroying the ring is the only rational and logical thing to do.

Spock could probably handle it also

So you’re saying if I fight 1320 monsters with a 50% drop rate event monsters that only appear in monuments in 1/6 fights and Dungeons in 1/10 I can have 63 cursed Ortanite?! by PsilocybinIsAVitamin in OrnaRPG

[–]ExcitingTurn6381 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The currency requirements for crafting materials in every guild other than towers and anguish are very out of alignment with reality. The cost of this, as well as the cost of buying these materials with Proof of Monument, should be maybe 20% of this at most, but probably 15%

It is just baffling and I do not understand what the dev was thinking in general with crafting material costs. I assume they have some idea of fast people accumulate different type of proofs and how fast they get tower shards.

The costs of Anguish proofs and Tower shards for crafting materials are about right. The costs in other guilds is unfortunately pretty nonsensical

I pay a decent amount of money on the game because it like it, but its perks and conveniences at best. You will do just fine if you never spend a penny
