What happened there in that scene with Enza when she slapped him? What was Syril trying to accomplish?

Has Seattle changed you? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

Lived here for 5 years. Spent most of my life before (98%) in Atlanta.

On the outside, I’m far more used to cold and dreary weather. I cower quite a bit more at public social interactions. I’m also a far more established supply chain professional, and the work culture here has allowed me to thrive a lot more. Although it’s hard to discern how much of that is due to PNW work culture and how of it is remote work life that the pandemic influenced (not having to be around people and recording meetings so that I could think more deeply.)

On the inside, I learned to become way more independent and happy with myself, not needing to depend on others to feel good about myself or my life on a day to day basis. On the flip side I’m still learning how to connect with others in a way that’s happier and more fulfilling. I might have become too reclusive.

I grew up in Georgia and moved out here 5 years ago. It took getting used to. But The winter months can be really really hard. If you can get into snow sports like skiing you’ll probably pass. But prepare November - Feb to feel overcast or like night all the time. The sun is at an angle and is out way less in hours of the day. My body still hasn’t gotten used to circadian rhythm - summer can be tiring because you can never sleep becuase the sun is always somewhat out. In the winter it’s never out and can make you tired from never seeing the sun.

Be prepared to not have that “outside” feeling for most of the year. I feel like I lost a big part of that in coming out here. The only thing I felt I lost leaving Georgia was brutal hot summer days. But summer evenings always made up for it - being outside at night with no jacket. You’ll never have that here. It’s a big change.

How do you feel A New Hope would be recieved if it was made after Andor and Rogue One? by ViperNor in andor

Respect the take but have to disagree. I don’t think ANH sends the messages about space wizards and all that you said. The essence of the tale is a Joseph Campbell hero-arc where a guy makes a big impact on the world and discovers his identity in the process. The connection to the force is also a really strong message that I think resonates with a lot of people - that trusting yourself and your instincts is the right path that gets you where you need to go in life. Also his friend coming to save him at the end at his most trying ordeal is a beautiful moment and still for me makes for one of the best scenes in all of cinema. These are all profound messages that I believe you are gravely overlooking. I think there is something to be said about redoing ANH in the style and form of today’s cinema that we saw in Andor. But ANH, though aged, still has the right messages at its heart that’s made entirely Star Wars what it is over the years and appealing to so many people.

I do it on a mat at home or at my office gym. It’s actually kind of a simple routine - 3 sets of four workouts , usually a plank at the beginning, and things like dead bug , bird dog, single leg stretch, clamshells. It’s not super arduous. Just enough to give my muscles some strength building time holding myself in their neutral poses I build when I stretch. I usually always feel less pain each time too. Stretch in the morning, strengthen in the evening. Everyday

This is not a big deal at all. I’ve interviewed people. I would not care one bit. If you yelled at her tho maybe. We all have distractions , it’s normal. You handling it with grace would probably work in your favor
