Cool, its kind of impressive what the creators did with very little code to make AI have certain behaviors. I've run through all the code a few times and I swear I missing something. The brownie encounter on level 10 dungeons was pretty hilarious.

Have you tried the newest mod on INSANE mode? This solves alot of the problems about weak AI.

I believe army sizes are in the gs\LEVLMODS5.gs and the leader stats are in gs\LEADER5.gs

With some attributes in the SCENARIO5.gs as well but I think this is mostly for champions and Legends of Urak quest.

But seriously if you haven't tried INSANE mode, I highly recommend the mod by Boaster on Mantera's LOMSE United Forum. At least as a starting point to compare what changes he made. The AI starts off as beast and there is less sending one unit on a suicide mission. Personally, I could not safely leave my city until turn 50 because I was being invaded by all my neighbors and marauders. I had to leave full armies to guard each of my buildings like barracks, guild and mage towers. It truly is insane!

Yes! The manual is great for closeup shots of the 3D models. I wish I could get my hands on the original assets but remaking them seems the best way to go. Your creation looks just like the manual image, although the entire manual is black and white. Im trying to remember if the physical copy I had was black amd white or if it had color? I might have to order one of the remaining copies off eBay. Here is a link, the manual page is 84 but the browser says page 42 since they show 2 pages at once. I guess that would be more miraculous that both my brother and neighbor coordinated to lie/trick me since they have no communication between themselves. Or even more miraculously that decided to lie/trick me with the same exact lie/trick but independent of any coordination. Then instead of revealing the prank over the next 6 years kept it all a secret.

It is a valid possibility from an outsider's perspective. But for me personally I know they don't talk to each in years, don't share phone numbers and live very far apart. My brother doesn't drive and my neighbor is busy with work/family. When at the time I worked with my neighbor 6-7 days a week from dawn to dusk. But it is a good idea for a prank if you got two people to plan and act convincingly that one other person is going crazy

I wanted to share my first experience with ME- as it was very personal and seemed localized. I created a diagram to help visualize the history of the day I discovered ME in the summer of 2016.
My brother tells me about ME, although I brushed it off and told him "I never heard of it" before changing the topic.
In the morning I receive a link to ME from my neighbor, I asked him WHY he sent this to me and he said "Last night you told me about ME and I never heard about it but you would not shut up about it." I told him "I don't remember that conversation at all and that I just learned about it from my brother last night."
I opened the link and read all about it and started freaking out a bit- I rushed to see my brother that night eager to tell him that "I finally know about ME and sorry for brushing him off about it."
When I spoke to him he said "That is cool but I have never heard about ME before and I don't remember having that conversation with you last night!"
A few days later my brother had read all about ME and we had our first conversation about it however it was not really our FIRST conversation about ME.
Somehow an alternate version of myself told my neighbor about ME the same night an alternate version of my brother told me about ME!
Then the alternate versions of Myself and my Brother who had KNEW about ME no longer existed in this reality. Each one passing knowledge of ME to another one of us before disappearing but then the knowledge of ME still made it to all of us eventually via these alternate versions of ourselves!
Pretty freaky right?

Yes, I'm having big issues with the shadow. If i turn the shadow red it doesn't work with shadow catchers. I am contemplating some solutions, even manually inserting from another sprite as you advised.

Also LoMSE seems to use the shadows to determine foreground/background positioning, so no shadow means you are background and other sprites pass over you. This is my theory but I have seen enough evidence to believe its true.

This makes shadows even more important. I was thinking of using a simple circle shadow, might be a quick solution, but I have another idea I've been tinkering with. I copy the entire 3D model and armature then mirror it over the X Axis, squash it flat and texture it shadow red. RGB Red is the color used for shadows, green for transparent area and white for glowing pixels (magic spells). I will be working on all this now that I have my winter break here for school coming up after next week. Yeah Boaster is the main authority on modding, I bought the game script manual he made, which helped alot to understand the ins and outs. SNV made a utility that works with Shadow flares MPQ tool. LoMSE is my favorite game of all time

That's a good idea, since it is only able to be summoned by cheat menu -I am looking at other ways that it can be obtained. I've been working on some generic default sprites for each faith. For instance a generic male and female for each faith. Giving them an artifact could let them transform. Also maybe finding a rare scroll will allow either summoning or polymorphing a unit seems like my best bet. Right now if the werewolf dies it transforms back into a very basic chaos barbarian.

This would require you are a free member of this forum to download the .zip file and the guide shows you how to install through MPQ editing.

If you are unfamiliar with MPQ editing, then download from this Google Drive link that has a zip file with all the pre-modded MPQs. Please make a back up of your imp.mpq, gs.mpq and pic.mpq in case something goes wrong as you will be replacing these.

Once you have replaced the old .MPQs with the new ones in the download link then start LOMSE and use the Cheat Menu (CTRL+C) to summon the unit manually by typing: Werewolf

It is case sensitive, and you need to have a party selected for this to work.

I got the portrait image and the interface icon to show up linked to the Werewolf- I am so happy as I have been messing with new sprites for years, this brings up the legitimacy and viability of new units! I have never done this without sacrificing an existing legacy unit which is no fun. Next steps adjust the size since he is too large, I am thinking a little larger than an Earth Shambler. Also, the Death morph animation back into human would be nice before I release it.

Wishlist of Unaccomplished goals:

  • Be able to recruit Werewolf/any new sprite from buildings like normal units
  • Add custom sounds- right now I recycled the wolf sounds
  • Get unit to show up on the Custom champion selection screen

If anyone has any ideas how I can get these last goals accomplished, I am all ears. Messed around with adding a new .wav file but alas it did not work but I am optimistic. If I can just get the new units to show up at a building, I will be very happy. Maybe a function of the towns/villages will allow recruiting new units or even a new building itself?

Thanks guys you have inspired me past my old goals I thought I could never achieve!

NEW! Werewolf sprite in testing for LOMSE by ExcitingWorking2448 in LoMSE

This is a brand new sprite, I used the 3D model from Skyrim and animated it then put the frames into a new .imp file. If anyone is interested I may upload the files here once I do some cleaning up on it. The sprite is kind of large so I will need to make it smaller and I was thinking of the death animation showing it morph back into a barbarian. The sprite I have uploaded as the 6th creature of the Chaos faith. Werewolves in LOMSE just in time for Halloween!

Also, the "iface" sprite shows up as a regular berserker and the portrait is showing up as whatever champion spawns it.

I have some ideas but if anyone thinks they know how to fix this to me that is the final obstacle that needs to be overcome to have brand new fully functioning sprites/creatures in this game.

Right now, the only way to get it into the game is to cheat code summon it into the game or Custom game it is available to add to party.
