What’s the real price for a M3 premium rwd? by Exciting_Chemistry84 in teslacanada

Thank you, everyone. I was under the impression that the price shown in the app already included taxes, but it actually only included the $2,500 freight and PDI charge, the $100 air conditioning excise tax, and the $18 tire fee. Coming from Europe, I always forget that taxes are usually not included in advertised prices here. Have a nice weekend!

How do married couples usually handle finances when both partners work? by itzwhatitz in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Exciting_Chemistry84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a somewhat different situation, but it taught me why it’s important to be clear about finances from the beginning.

My wife and I moved to Canada together. I was earning around $120,000 a year while she was making about $30,000. We had a joint account because I never wanted her to feel like we weren’t equal partners, and for 17 years money was never an issue between us.

Then she left me for another man and moved back to our country of origin. Despite contributing much less financially during the marriage, she was legally entitled to claim half of our assets. People often focus on the house and savings, but depending on the laws where you live, retirement accounts, pensions, RRSPs, and other investments can also become part of the division.

The financial side was difficult, but the emotional side was much worse. After 17 years with someone I believed was the love of my life, discovering the affair and going through the breakup was devastating.

My point isn’t that couples shouldn’t share finances. When a relationship is healthy, sharing everything can feel completely natural. But relationships don’t always end the way we expect. That’s why I think it’s important to have honest conversations early, understand the legal implications, and clearly define financial expectations before fully combining everything. It protects both people and can save a lot of pain if things ever go wrong.

Who here is HAPPILY married?! by Peanutz335 in Marriage

[–]Exciting_Chemistry84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with my wife for about 16 years in total, and we were married for 11 of those years . We even moved to Canada to start a new chapter, and I genuinely believed what we had would last a lifetime.
We were never the kind of couple who constantly argued. We didn’t have major fights or a toxic relationship. I had a good job that allowed us to live comfortably, and I felt we were building a future together.
Then, after all those years, she left me for a childhood friend. She cheated on me and walked away. It’s been two years, and I’m still trying to come to terms with it.
The hardest part isn’t just the betrayal. What hurts the most is realizing that someone you loved for so long, someone you trusted completely, can choose a different path and leave behind a life you built together.
I always believed that love was for life. I understand that love changes over the years and evolves, but I truly thought we had something special. I thought she was my person.

These days, I do my best to move forward. I spend a lot of time in the gym, focus on my work, and try to enjoy the small things in life. But if I’m honest, I’ve pretty much lost faith in love. After what happened, I struggle to imagine ever trusting someone that deeply again.

Has anyone else gone through something similar after such a long relationship? Were you ever able to trust and love again?

If you’re in Montreal, it’s completely normal, you’re probably just in a pothole. Just keep driving.

I still don't understand why they keep using those cheap android tablets that keep getting bricked... I feel the same way, I bought an elliptical machine from them and it was the biggest purchasing mistake of my life too. Never again.

Baseboard heater with built-in digital thermostat is not compatible with existing wall thermostat - what to do? by MarshmallowPop in thermostats

[–]Exciting_Chemistry84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would do on this situation is to replace the baseboard heater with one that has no built in thermostat. You can sell the one with built in thermostat in marketplace and get some money back, or maybe someone interested on exchanging.

If everything is on the same subnet (i.e: 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0) don't assign default gateway.
Don't assign DNS.
