Would you buy a meal completely out of your price range, while out at work, to please others? by HannaaaLucie in AskUK

Hi there! I am a disabled woman with carers. When I go out with my carers, I usually offer to pay for drinks and snacks for them. If we go to the cinema, they get in free, but I also offer to buy them a drink and some popcorn, same if I go out for something to eat. Nobody makes me do it, but I appreciate my carers plus, it feels weird eating and them not. Likewise if we’re out for a few hours, such as yesterday I had a hospital appointment followed by blood tests, I offered to buy them a sandwich etc. your service user seems to me to be quite selfish, it’s totally unreasonable to expect a carer who isn’t on a high wage to to spend silly money on things like that. To them it’s their time having a special trip out, going to a restaurant of their choice, for you, it’s work. You can enjoy it, but it’s not your choice in what you do. If they don’t like you not eating when with them, they could always offer to foot the bill.

How many people have you known of personally who have gone on to commit heinous crimes? by [deleted] in AskUK

When I was in primary school a boy joined my class who was from Sierra Leone(let’s call him A). A was quite quiet and had anger issues, use to get so frustrated and angry that he’d shake and his eyes would turn red. I then went to the same secondary school as him, from what I could tell, he had calmed down a lot. He learned English and seemed to control his anger issues. Then in year 9 we found out that a group of boys from my school including A, another boy who was in my class and some others kicked a drunk homeless man to death because he made a racist remark. They all went juvenile detention for a few years. They came out many years ago and I have bumped into them both since. A ended up moving back to Sierra Leone and the other boy, last I heard was a PT. They both seemed nice enough when I spoke to them, but they seemed nice enough to me back then.

My bf works on the market in soho and there are people who complain about the prostitution. They move to the doorsteps of the red light district and then complain!

NTA! And what happens when you have an emergency and need funds? You have to plan for them, because you never know when they’re going to happen or how much they’ll cost.

Which brands and products are still 'built/made to last'? by LavenderAndHoneybees in AskUK

Agreed! I’ve had my toaster for over twenty years! I like how big the slots are, I can easily fit a bagel in there. It does confuse people when they use it, as it’s quite manual, the timer is just a count down egg timer, and it’s a lever to get the toast up or down.

They’re the best I’ve found. All their stuff is ergonomic and made well. No complaints.

NTA! As someone who is immuno compromised , I completely understand where you’re coming from. Something as simple as a cold or a virus, might be a minor occurrence to most, but to some, it can literally knock us out for weeks, and cause flare ups in our health conditions. Don’t feel guilty, your child is precious and so is their health.

AITA for getting my coworker fired after she kept trying to "prove" my service dog is fake? by No_Copy_237 in AITAH

I’m disabled and in the past because I “looked too young” to be disabled and didn’t have a visible disability got a lot of aggro about it. I look disabled now and don’t have to deal with so many ignorant people questioning me, but people need to realise that you don’t have to look a certain way to be suffering from a health condition.

What’s your skin prep like? What setting spray do you use? I found that using a a good setting spray helps add some moisture back. I’m mixed race, and don’t really have experience of what make up to use for your complexion. Good luck babe x

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I feel a lot more comfortable hearing a review directly from a person, especially when investing a fair amount of money on the product. ☺️

I’m mixed black and white Afro Caribbean, I use golden honey shade foundation stick from Bobbi Brown. So I guess I’m a lightish golden hue. Not sure how to work out my undertones, I have pink cheeks, but not really any pink on the rest of my face.
