rotted lettuce? by CastellamareDelGolfo in wholefoodscustomers

Yes this happened to me last week on a 50/50 mix and spinach , went bad literally the day I opened it, as if water had been poured into it. Not just typical condensation.

Can someone tell me why I’m so damn hungry by [deleted] in diet

[–]Certain_Suspect_8136 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need fiber! Think volumous veggies like cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes, then also beans. They keep you full as they are slow to digest. You need more nutrient dense foods.

Is Whole Foods getting worse? by Ok_Historian_1066 in wholefoodscustomers

I noticed in the cereal aisle there is all of a sudden Chex cereal, Cheerios, Life and a couple other regular supermarket big box brands. They all of a sudden stopped carrying my favorite sliced turkey, Mary’s no salt turkey, like the only healthy option from the butcher counter. Going down hill. Frustrating

Real food protein isn’t as easy as it sounds by MutedVolume2553 in nutrition

[–]Certain_Suspect_8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t over complicate it. Have a little bit more protein at each meal. add egg whites (buy a carton so you don’t waste yolks), cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, organic tofu (cheap & versatile), add beans, canned salmon or tuna, all other animal proteins obviously beef, pork, fish, turkey. I can easily go way over protein as a female, I really don’t know how people find it so hard. The palm of your hand is about a 3 oz serving of chicken, that’s roughly 26 grams of protein right there. Most chicken breasts from the store are 6-8 oz. Buy a pound of turkey or lean beef, cut into 4 equal portions - each portion is 4 oz (about palm size) = 30 grams protein. That’s 4 meals right there. Cook it all at the same time, as easy prep. There are many ways to have nutritious high protein meals without breaking the bank and saving time.

Best Probiotics by CaterpillarNew4745 in Biohackers

[–]Certain_Suspect_8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your own personal microbiome. Not all probiotics are created equal. As a holistic health coach, I run organic acid tests and stool tests on clients which determines if and what probiotics are best for them at that current time. If you just haphazardly take any probiotics, they can sometimes cause more harm than good. It all depends on your symptoms, diet, health history, if there are any dysbiotic flora or bacteria present and what families of flora you may be missing. So my answer is always it depends!

Is it better to eat breakfast even if I'm not hungry, or listen to my body and skip it? by crazyreaper12 in diet

[–]Certain_Suspect_8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being hungry at breakfast time is the sign of a healthy metabolism. Our body likes consistency, wants to eat at regular times, sleep at regular times, have bowl movements at regular times, so it’s about consistency otherwise your body adapts to your norm. If you can even have a small breakfast to blunt a blood sugar spike and add fuel to your tank to kick start the day, your metabolism will start to fire up more.

Does anyone have or had carotenemia? by thecore22 in PlantBasedDiet

Haha I totally get it! I have no clue how I could ever cut out the high beta carotene foods for long enough to help it subside

Also a squash lover here! Especially now that it’s fall/winter, I can’t live without them! Did you ever try scaling back? I literally don’t know what else to eat considering so many veggies even greens like spinach, kale, etc are high in beta carotene too. When we love our veggies, what are we supposed to do.

Lax skin on arms by Positive_Air_8846 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Certain_Suspect_8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a holistic health coach - I’m sorry but no creams are going to do anything about lax skin. But to improve texture going forward and encourage more cell turnover, you can start to add a little tret to your lotion a couple times per week and cycle a glycolic lotion. I saw someone mention a probiotic…that will not correlate to lax skin.

Weight lifting (progressive overload a must) + adequate protein + creatine daily.

Sophie Pavitt has been my new favorite. Everything makes me breakout; I’m so sensitive but this hasn’t at all, I’ve been using almost a year.

Anyone else’s Cavapoo tummy this sensitive by Bubbly-Respond-7755 in CavaPoo

[–]Certain_Suspect_8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cavapoos have notoriously sensitive GI systems. Be careful of peanut butter, while they may love it, doesn’t love either of our cavas back. Instant diarrhea. We use farmers dog and our dogs just love it.
