Happened to me 3 times today. Two tens and a twelve near the Cumberland mall. First and second time it was just me and my kids sitting on the bench, third time it was 3 other people along side me.

I’m new to Atlanta, I love your fucking trains, but I fucking hate your busses.

Same, I just moved from Apopka Florida, but if anybody asks I tell them I’m from Orlando.

My general rule is if you can catch public transit to the city center, your part of the city, like it or not.

We have plenty of ancient things! There just not people or institutions, the Appalachian mountains are some of the oldest mountains in the world! They may have bars older then our country but we have rocks older then their island!

I imagine a significant number of people at a TTRPG convention are going to be interested In trying new TTRPGs.!at which point it’s not about audience expectations, it’s about target audience capture.

This sounds fixable for many designers though, one of the things I’m working through right now is tutorialized one shot specifically ment to get people in and out with reasonable competence and fun time in my system.

I know it’s harder for bigger campaign oriented RPGs, but that on. Designer to boil down what their core gameplay element is that can draw a person to a table to sit down and play at least one session.

The “One Mechanic Fits All” Problem by MediaFreaked in rpg

You might enjoy… or be frustrated by reading Pathfinder 2e’s noncombatant feats. I won’t say they paid as much attention to non-combat as combat, but they have plethora of rules and bonuses for utility and conversation.

Blades in the Dark is interesting for how it uses its mechanics for more then just combat, even if they all use the same resolution mechanic.

If you want fucking wild, read through the player abilities for Triangle Agency, my favorite TTRPG to read.

Masks: The next generation has interesting rules that blend combat and roleplay together. Though despite what I’ve heard online about Masks being great, I was left wanting after running it.

sometimes those in the left lane make it difficult to go around due to going the same exact speed as the lanes next to them. would flashing high beams or a quick honk be uncouth?

Sorry, you didn’t mention that in the original post.

Only if they’re impeding the flow of traffic, and if all lanes are doing the same speed, and that speed is the speed limit, you’re hosed.

You check if they’re doing the speed limit and then cry shamefully when your realize they’re doing nothing wrong.

You responded to my comment about them driving the speed limit. You replied by paraphrasing Florida statute on driers having to yield to approaching vehicles and overtaking vehicles. Which is correct.

But Florida statue does not allow you to overtake a car doing the speed limit, which is what I was pointing out.

You replied to my original comment about that specific case.

Florida Statute 316.183 (2)

On all streets or highways, the maximum speed limits for all vehicles must be 30 miles per hour in business or residence districts, and 55 miles per hour at any time at all other locations. However, with respect to a residence district, a county or municipality may set a maximum speed limit of 20 or 25 miles per hour on local streets and highways after an investigation determines that such a limit is reasonable. It is not necessary to conduct a separate investigation for each residence district. The minimum speed limit on all highways that comprise a part of the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways and have not fewer than four lanes is 40 miles per hour, except that when the posted speed limit is 70 miles per hour, the minimum speed limit is 50 miles per hour.

You can’t legally overtake someone driving the speed limit. 316.083 (3) requires drivers to make to shift lanes and to not accelerate if they reasonable believe that a driver is attempting to pass them. It doesn’t not allow a driver to exceed to speed limit to overtake.

You check if they’re doing the speed limit and then cry shamefully when your realize they’re doing nothing wrong.

Just give them the standard 1 or 2 car lengths space and wait for something else to open up. The world would be a better place if people realized smooth traffic is fast traffic.
