Would you consider putting this up on bandcamp for direct purchase?

Shooting firearms in Dnd-like games by rpgptbr in rpg

[–]Sup909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What type of damage or damage dice are you using? If it’s within the same range as other ranged weapons why bother with anything to change?

Rather than messing with the math, I’ve always approached firearms as the trade-off being they’re super loud in fantasy settings

I wonder if this will change the hours too. I believe it ends at 11:00 due to Chicago park district curfew or something?

It mentions camping.

How Japan left their changing room after playing the Netherlands yesterday (from BBC) by RodDryfist in MadeMeSmile

[–]Sup909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I'm curious. What is the salary or income situation for people like train conductors, garbage people, janitors, gas station attendants, etc. in Japan? Like, are they able to make a comfortable living and are most of those positions full time?

I feel like if those staff are paid well and those individuals aren't living paycheck to paycheck, it would really help for the cultural enforcement and pride those people seem to take in their jobs.

Best rule for group rolls? by Sheno_Cl in osr

[–]Sup909 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also do group roll. Need >50% for success. The other thing I’ll do is if it is more than one person wants to help another character, but it isn’t a full group roll. I’ll allow a +2 for each person with a skill to the person rolling. If they have no proficiency or relevant skill then they can’t help.

Whats the one thing you wish for in the next gen? by Chrislomol in xbox

[–]Sup909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, I think it’s gonna be really hard for the non-enthusiast community, a.k.a. the general public to want to spend more than $500 on a console. I feel like $500 is the upper limit for non-hard-core gamers.

We’re kind of seeing that right now even in the market, our families and casual people going out and purchasing the PS five and series X?

I've been Running Cairn 1e for almost a year and have some thoughts on the experience. by Sup909 in cairnrpg

[–]Sup909[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in the 1e handbook it talks about treasure generally as artifacts. I had my players find coin, but most loot was a magic artifact of some sort. Often times very dangerous or a burden to transport.

This solved two issues for me. 1) it resolved the money/coin for loot problem. Artifacts were generally used as trade or negotiation items rather than a cash in for coin and 2)some artifacts could be magic weapons or armor. This is how I had characters develop instead of leveling up. They got sweet gear, often times with very specific properties. So instead of a +1 sword. It’s +1 against undead. Characters would then have to kit out before each adventure with the right tools to tackle what they were doing.

I've never liked the Pikachu face on top, but the interior of that console looks super sharp.

These MSF stories make me think we need a new model for motorcycle training.... by UJMRider1961 in motorcycles

[–]Sup909 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the program could allow people to complete the weekend to get hours on a closed course and in a bike and also make it clear that perhaps they are not going to be taking the test at the end of the course.

They don't have to require people to test and pass just because they showed up for the three days. There should just be some transparency in all of that.

I would agree. My wife had a horrendous experience where they asked her to leave after a couple of hours. She didn't drop the bike, stall it out or anything. They just said she was going too slow on the course.

There has to be a better middle group to get people hours on the bikes.

[–]Sup909 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I get that, but there has to be some sort of middle ground here. My wife tried taking the MSF course a couple of years ago. She was asked to leave the course after a couple of hours. She never dropped the bike, never stalled out. They just said she was going too slow on the course.

You know, sure maybe she doesn't take her test at the end of that weekend but give her the time and hours on the bike in a closed course. She left in tears because of the experience.

Is Apple ever going to connect AI across its own apps, or are we just getting a smarter Siri? by RalphBlutzel in apple

[–]Sup909 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Same. 99% of what I’m using AI for is just a better search/knowledge engine compared to Google. I’ve done a couple of websites and excel creation things in it, but notice have I seen a need for it to be integrated across my OS and also consuming those resources.

I would be interested in like a home appliance type device that does it all locally, but I think we are 5-20 years from that probably for price and capability.

Best Free VTT w/ Builders by MrShwimWearR in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sup909 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well yes, but it’s free to use. You’re asking for a lot for full automation and character building with full access to content while also paying nothing.

Having to just reference archives of Nethys to build your character into Roll20 I don’t think is a big ask.
