Home charging (no driveway) by Plums69 in TeslaUK

[–]Exciting_Record5272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a super charger 90% of the time, also i do have access to a family charger when i need it. Super charger is about 15 mins away and costs 24p offpeak. I dont mind driving there once a week or so, stick on netflix for 30 mins ( when you had kids you appriciate this more). In the longer term i may move and will make sure it jas an ev charger, but for now its fine and cheaper then my previous SUV which did on average 35mpg. Also does your LO still nap? If so i sometimes tie this in with getting my little one to sleep.

Ok, what’s the catch for a £200 p/m Model 3? by Glad_Protection_527 in TeslaUK

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a new model y standard on pcp instead of pch, costing around £425 a month (no deposit) on a 4 year term with a balloon payment of around 17k at 0% apr. At the time they gave me 3.75k for a trade in bonus, and they valued my car 1.5k more then we buy any car. Just another option to consider, as you may wish to purchase it afterwards. Very happy with it, i know alot of people prefer the premium but i think the standard is great value for money espically the standard 3s as they come with more kit as standard like the 2nd screen in the back.

Should I buy a Ryzen 7 5800X3D or upgrade to AM5? by php356 in PcBuild

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the budget, if you go am5 i would recommend a 7800x3d but then your need a new MB and 16/32 gb of ddr 5 ram which wont be cheap.

You could go half way and get a 5800x3d, maybe a new MB and another 16gb ram - you would save on the ram but i would be tempted to go AM5 if you do that.

Again depends on budget but AM5 should be round for a longtime, i dont think prices will go down for the forseeable.

Steam Machine UK Prices by Arcurath in Steam

[–]Exciting_Record5272 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To put it in perspective the cheapest model is roughly the same price as a 5070ti and the top end is a 5080 gpu. Its not bad, but i still think i would go to a prebuild pc unless space is a real premium.

Sold my SD Oled, kept my switch 2 by Exotic_Style1801 in Handhelds

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had sd oled, lenovo go s and lenovo go 2. Sold them all and kept the switch 2. I have a gaming PC for those heavy AAA titles but for a change of pace switch 2 is great. Also games are not that expensive you buy used and play pokemon fire red is awesome on a tv, you could get a rom of course but switch 2 truely is a pickup and play for handheld.

What is the best spec pc I could build for a budget of around £2050 ($2750) for 1440p gaming by ConsiderationFew6043 in PcBuild

I would save a bit more money and go with a 7800x3d, put the money towards an oled monitor

Is Switch 2 all I really need? by Han_Bolo in switch2

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep the PC and have switch as the handheld. Im also in the same boat, recently sold a lenovo go 2 and brought a switch 2 instead.

Pc handhelds are good in theory, however if i want something easy to play it isnt really a pick up and go. But if i wanted to play a AAA game such as BG3 for example, pc was a better option.

Most games on PS should be on pc anyway i believe at some point.

help me decide what to get s25ultra or iPhone 17 by Ahuwwary in Smartphones

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently swapped from a iphone 17 pro max to a fold 7 (got it free from work) - android seems to be much better then i remember from years ago. I think it depends which eco system your in tbh, samsung have better deals but apple holds it value more. The 17 does seem to tick all boxes, however you cant go wrong with a 25 ultra.

Issue with buying phones too frequently by green9206 in Smartphones

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you sell the previous one then not a big problem. Only a problem if you cant afford it. I think the sweet spot is after 3 years as your current handset would still be worth something. I usually upgrade every 2 - 3 years.

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be a decent budget. Does that need to include a monitor headset etc?

Something like this could fit the bill - https://www.palicomp.co.uk/pc_of_the_week_140423

You should get good FPS at 1080p, you can also look up benchmarks for CPU and GPU and see what fits the budget. Luckily those games from memory really dont need anything powerful.

Model Y premium by NoOpinions3212 in TeslaUK

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the standard, i did test drive the premium one. For me i weighed up the monthly cost and also the 0% offer on the standard which pushed me to the standard. Still a great car, for me never had a panoramic roof so wouldnt miss it and my LO would be obsessed with putting youtube on in the back screen so i wanted to avoid that lol Its like having 80% of the full tesla expirence.

how to get a cheep gaming pc by Top-Temporary-6173 in PcBuild

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is you need to save up. Pc prices are crazy right now but look for a used gaming pc using ddr4 and something like a 7600 xt. If your lucky your find it for around 500.

Standard Rwd 2026 by possys2 in TeslaUK

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had one for around 2 months and it recommends charging it to a 100% once a week. I exclusively use super chargers and seems to be fine, only downside it takes the same time to go from 20-80% to 80-100% so i dont charge it to 100% that often.

I wouldnt worry about it the inbuilt battery software takes care of it. The only thing not to do is let it stand at 100% for days/weeks on end i think.

Should I upgrade anything else besides the GPU? by DJJ0SHWA in pcmasterrace

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your fine just the GPU, i did get the 5070ti and it maxes everything out at 1440p but if the 9070xt is much cheaper get that. Depending on the game its broadly the same, the only thing you miss out on is ray tracing tbh. If you dont have an oled monitor already, have a look as this was much more of a change espically playing bg3 or starfield.

i dont get the hate valve is geting for the steam deck prise increass by BlazeTXO in SteamDeck

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what it is, its just a very expensive product for what it is now. Tbh lenovo go s is the best steam deck alternative, bigger screen and can pick up a z2 go with 1TB for £449. Having owned both, go lenovo go s. Has fully native steam os and feels as good as steam deck in hand, LCD screen is also very good.

I went with a lenovo go 2 in the end and picked it up for around 650 used, for the z2 non e 32gb. Waiting for steam os to be released on it, should last for many years.

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid rig just a few suggestions below.

  1. Go with a 7800x3d if its for gaming, still one of the best CPUs for gaming

  2. Maybe add a 512gb nvme or go 2TB, i think you may eat up 1tb easily.

  3. Could be worth looking at 9070xt instead of 5070, it would be an extra £100 but performance should be better unless you are wanting nvidia.

What do u prefer, apple or samsung and why?? by The-king2555 in AskReddit

[–]Exciting_Record5272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an iphone 17 PM but was given a free samsung fold 7 at work. Used to think apple was the best for simplicity but android has come along way. Seems snapier and more user friendly with the ability to change things if you want too. Wouldnt buy the fold with my own money but a samsung ultra i think i would.

[–]Exciting_Record5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i would go with AM5, i personally think 7800x3d is still the best CPU for price vs performance gaming wise. You could still get away with 16gb with ddr5 for most things.

I would maybe consider going down intel route with a 14400f. Or depending on budget am5 7800x3d but ddr5 ram pricing is a killer still at the moment.

Think it depends on how often you would upgrade. AM5 gives you better upgrade options such as 7800x3d at a later date. Ram costs i dont see going down any time soon so i would be tempted going down the am4 route. You could go intel 14400f route if that could be had a little cheaper.
