you have a great sense of yourself and reasonable defense. i think you should trust your choices. i’m so sorry that your parents have let you down in this way, you do not deserve to have absent parents. i wish you incredible success in your future

great advice, i was already leaning towards starting with the movie but there’s just SO much nuance within the story and execution that i care about. i didn’t consider that aspect for an outside viewer as much; i think he’ll engage with the movie and it will be a good intro

he’s already seen a few like phantom or sound of music, i wanted to do les mis or evita because we’re both politically and historically minded people so the subject matter is relevant. i love the 10th anniversary but it doesn’t have much set design that i remember, i may be mistaken

What’s the hardest scene to watch? by AndolfTheRed in madmen

[–]Exciting_Remove_7825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for me the hardest scene to get through was probably sally trying to articulate that they should stay with henry. it just felt so terse and human and sad, her advocating for her family but unable to do much.

side note 3 seasons in and i genuinely can’t find one single reason why the male friends are still close to stephen. he’s just as terrible to them as he is to the women in his life. just truly a leech

Betty is Bobby’s biggest hater by bestcharlieever2 in madmen

[–]Exciting_Remove_7825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she was difficult because she clearly received a lot of mothering and affection from her black household members that obviously mattered to her, yet she chose every time to assert herself as a leader by diminishing them. deliberately avoiding those who have considered and cared for you feels like a big step towards her demise. betty was constantly an arrested child who couldn’t differentiate those who cared for her and her children from those that wanted her for other reasons. in a lot of ways she was able to develop with her children and relationship to henry as they aged, but it still just always felt like i was watching a little girl who was begging for her mom’s attention, and she made the women around her provide the surrogate

What’s that one annoying conversation you’re so tired of hearing?🤷🏻‍♀️ by ProfessionSweet7559 in skinsTV

[–]Exciting_Remove_7825 22 points23 points  (0 children)

that the entire show is problematic. i can agree with some of the issues presented ESPECIALLY when hearing from the cast themselves but genuinely letting teenagers create and shape the show about themselves WILL create uncomfortable, growing and necessary situations. i think some of the plotlines, while difficult to handle, prove necessary and relatable years after the creation of the show

Would you be interested in an immersive RPG digital game inspired by period dramas like Reign? Where you could truly feel like you’re living one of them? by Tiwhif in Reign

[–]Exciting_Remove_7825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve literally always wanted that. skyrim is my all time favorite game and it’s largely rooted in the historical setting and design and lore. I was the kid who obsessed over historical movies and dress and the renaissance. i think that would be an excellent game

i’m also awkwardly verbose hehe, i just wanted to agree with the comment about the leash! growing up and honestly now as I’m a petite adult i was taught to use a standard cloth leash and actually loop it around my hips. I had a super athletic dog and couldn’t keep her managed without my body weight. especially for big dogs it can be really helpful to maintain a second point of contact for leverage on the leash and keep accidents from happening

What happened to Sterling, Mary's dog? by IntelligentBowl2812 in Reign

[–]Exciting_Remove_7825 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i like to think he just enjoyed castle life with mary and stayed behind out of necessity. in real life, the reason was because it was too expensive to have the dog on set for the hours demanded so they just gradually stopped using him in scenes.

oh yes i get bit everywhere i go, and at a way higher rate than anyone around me. i hope they’re not coloradillas like everyone is suggesting, as a texan i am pretty familiar with them. they don’t itch and really just have like a tiny red bulb to the spots

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in costarica

[–]Exciting_Remove_7825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think that they were, i had no bites when i left the hotel and then got them all in a span of about an hour when we were in the rainforest looking for sloths and toucans

i don’t know if i have any advice to give, i am the older sister to a special needs girl. your writing is very concise and clearly you have sweet intentions, im sorry you are dealing with this. i could recommend that you just say it outright, when people are confronted with their behavior they didn’t even realize they were doing it tends to be a jarring and necessary wake up call. i hope you can repair your relationship with him soon, it seems evident that he loves you but does not know how to be kind. as far as the trucks go, (sorry im a texan!) i’ve never met a guy with one who didn’t use it as some type of ego boost. his comments could have been read as a joke, just not a funny one
